How to Speed up Firefox (Regardless which version)

This nifty configuration walk through will show you how to make Firefox load web pages quicker than usual.

1. Open Firefox and type "about:config" in the URL bar
2. Press enter when the "Void your Firefox warranty" comes up
3. Below the URL bar you will notice that there is now another search bar, type "Network" into it
4. Scroll down until you see "Network.HTTP.Pipelining" you will notice that it is set to fake. Right-Click to toggle it and change it to TRUE
5. Below "Network.HTTP.Pipelining" you will see a similar sounding name just with a "Max Requests" at the end of it. Right -Click to toggle, and set it to 8.
6. Open up a new tab in Firefox (Control button+ T) and type in any website in the URL bar. Notice a quicker loading time and quicker refresh rate.

to set bing homepage
Since you haven't specified which internet browser you are using, I am giving you solutions for the most common Internet browsers on the web.

1. For Internet Explorer: Go to Tools>Internet Options>You will see the section Home Page with a box to type in a web address.

2. Type the web address: http://www.bing.com

3. Go down to the bottom of that window. Click the Apply Button.

4. Click OK.


For Mozilla Firefox:

1. Go to Tools>Options>Click the General Tab> When Firefox Starts>Click on the drop down menu> Select Show my Homepage.

2. Underneath that where it has a box to type in a web address: Type in:

http://www.bing.com

3. Then click on Use current pages.

4. Click OK.


For Google Chrome:

1. Click on the wrench on the right side of the page.

2. Go to Options>Basics.

3. Make sure there is a dot where it says on Start Up> Open the home page.

4. Where it says Home Page>Click on the dot that says Open this page> Type in :

http://www.bing.com

5. Where it says Toolbar> Click on the box that says Show Home button.

6. Close the window.

i want to unblock the facebook sites
There will be an option on the router's web configuration page called URL blocking or web filtering. Your can unblock it from there. For accessing the router's web configuration page you have to type the default gateway on the brower's address bar. Your can your IE or Firefox.

Steps to find the default gateway

Start->Control panel->network and internet connections->network connection-> Right click Local area connection-> Status->Support

This will show you the default gateway something like 192.168.1.1

The open Internet explorer type 192.168.1.1 on address bar and unblock the facebook

when i try and click on the web page, i get a typing sursor
ok.

try this...


Start > run > firefox /p

Create a new profile and use load it to open ur firefox.

This would load the default options.

If this fixes the issue.

Create a backup of ur favourites etc and delete olf firefox profile and keep the new one as default.

Mozilla Firefox Not open web page
Make sure your internet connection are ok try to ping under cmd (start-->run-->cmd) and type "ping www.google.com" (without quote). if timed out its mean the problem is your internet connection but if it look ok your firefox connection setting might not corectly configured. Try to using no proxy in firefox connection preference
