PUK Code problem - Sim Card

A PUK code (which is commonly called as PIN Unlock Code) is required if a GSM SIM card was locked after entering the wrong PIN code three times in a row. Entering a wrong PUK code ten times in a row disables the SIM card permanently. Both the PIN and the PUK codes are supplied by the operator, but only the PIN code can be changed by the user.

This problem is very common and most users think that it's related to phone or it's phone code problem, which is not true, it's only with your sim card and is for security reason related to sim card security. That particular sim card will never work on other handsets. We can't use software or hardware or other tricks or methods to unlock it, the only solution is from the Service Operator/Network Operator. Well, some service providers like Airtel has sms facilities to get the PUK code by sending a unique text message, but most providers don't have that facility.

If you keep entering random codes/unknown numbers several times (maximum ten times), your sim card will be rejected or blocked and will be unusable permanently.

Your only solution is to call the Service Provider (Network operator's customer care), ask them to give you your puk code, they'll promptly give it to you after few queries to make sure you are the right/true owner of the Sim Card. (there's no fee or charge as well, and if you call from the same network's sim card number to the customer care, you'll not spend/pay a penny, and of course few service providers may charge). You'll be given instructions on how to enter and change the PIN2 code by the Customer Care representative/s.

There's no other alternative, or no other options that you can get the code from, so don't play around, instead make a call to the customer care of the sim card network operator and get the code.

I wish you good luck.

YES I HAVE A CELLULARONE SIMS CARD IN A PHONE AND IT IS ASKING ME FOR THE PUK CODE

A PUK(PERSONAL UNLOCK KEY) code is required if a GSM SIM card was locked after entering the wrong PIN code three times in a row. PUK code is a SIM specific code assigned by your service provider. No way you can guess and enter it. So, when it asks for the PUK code, don’t do anything, get the PUK code from your service provider. If the PUK code is entered 10 times wrongly the SIM card gets permanently blocked.
Call to customer care using any other mobile phone which uses the same service provider. They will ask some details about you to make sure you are the owner of the SIM card. Questions might include your billing address, email ID, numbers you recently called or messaged etc. They might even ask you the number printed on the SIM card, so be prepared with all details before calling them. Once you get the PUK code, enter it into the phone and your phone will return to normal.
