Tip & How-To about Philips DVP5992/37 DVD Player

Philips DVD player Model: DVP5992 Fixing the orange screen

How to fix the orange screen back to normal!

The other day i turned on my Philips DVD player model number: DVP5992 and the screen was orange red, instead of blue/grayish! I have tried to google the problem, but no luck. So what i did is, i disconnected the power cord and the HDMI cable and waited for like 30 min. After 30 min i plugged it back in and my screen went back to normal, being blue and gray!
If you have this problem, do this, and your screen will turn back to normal.

Also if you want multi-regional code to play all regions DVD's, do this:

press Setup
select the Preference Tab (4th setting to the right)
keep that tab open and Press 1,3,8,9,3,1
Press up/down on remote key to select "0"
and hit "OK" then hit setup to exit.

good luck and enjoy!

Background color is orange instead of blue, color is messed up

Usually this problem is a simple one to find out.Are you wires working correctly. If they are not, open up the box and,if you are a professional so I dont get sued for some accident, try to splice the wires back.If your not a pro take it to the retailer and have it fixed. If it is not the wires,I would check your color settings option in the DVD options menu.Check your red blue green balance and make sure they are correct.

No Picture on HDMI using Philips DVP5992.

You can try out by connecting the CVBS (Yello) out from player to TV and connect HDMI out from Player to TV. Goto CVBS input on Sony TV. Select set up and you should get the HDMI Video options availble. Try to change the resulution and check for Video on HDMI source.
Which disc you were playing PAL or NTSC? PAL should work for Europe.
