Tip & How-To about Lexmark X5650 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER

Lexmark X5650 Scan Fails after Displaying Image

The disconnect/reconnect USB and printer power don't fix. for me. Neither does restart. If I change to custom size 4 X6, scan is successful. After that, I can change back to the proper settings and resume scanning.

trying to scan document and it says "cannot retreive application list"

Were you able to scan successfully before? If yes, it could be a slight communication problem. This can easily be fixed by disconnecting your printer from your computer (if usb connected). Unplug and replug your printer into the power outlet to reset it. Reboot your computer. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues. Try to scan again.

I can print from my Dell 926 all in one, but it wont scan

Try removing your 926 icon in Printers and Faxes, disconnect the USB cable, restart your computer, reconnect the USB cable, see the 926 and install the driver again. If scan has never worked, you probably need a different driver.

Hope this helps.

Dell 922 AIO cannot scan! Urgh!

Uninstall the printer from your pc and then reinstall it. This will let you start over fresh and this should solve the problem.
