PROBLEMS WITH SLOW INTERNET

Slow Internet

Nothing can be more frustrated than a slow internet connection. I know, you can't enjoy that famous Netflix show or stay connected on Facebook.
But this problem is usually pretty easy to deal with. The problem lies in 2 areas, i.e. internal issue ( issues related to your internet appliance) and external ( related to your Internet Service Provider )

Solutions:

1. Restart the modem

This solution is just like how you would resolve any gadgets. Sometimes a power fluctuation or overused of the internet modem can overload it.
In order to reset everything back to normal, simply switch off the modem, wait for few minutes and turn it back on. You should be good to go in most cases.

2. Fix your wifi signal

Speaking of wifi, you might find that your router and internet are fine, but your wireless signal is weak. This can cause a slowdown-or, at minimum, a latency-filled browsing experience. In that case, you may need to reposition, tweak, and boost your router with a few tricks.

3. Kill any unwanted background software

Sometimes, background processes like software updates or any other programs that require internet maybe pulling your data, hence slow down your internet speed.
By simply check your task manager, you can see the list of this software and are able to kill them off. Turn off any automatic updates in the setting and this should help.

4. Contact your ISP

If none of the above works, your problem is maybe an external issue, i.e. from your internet service provider.
This could be something like a network upgrade, bad weather, wires fixing, etc. Definitely, they will assess your internet signal and inform you of the necessary action to take.

When watching movies on Netflix, they will sometimes freeze up. Sometimes they will start up and sometimes they won't.

Could just be something as simple as slow internet connection at that time. Netflix does require a buffer of a certain amount of time in the show before it starts, or plays. If the memory buffer empties below that point, the show will freeze until it is back up above that point. I'd check to ensure your internet is operating at the minimum for nextflix when you're playing the show.
One tip would be to ensure that if it's happening, that nothing else is trying to connect to the internet and that no downloads are occurring.

Why do Netflix movies keep stopping?

It could possibly be a slow internet connection speed. Netflix posted requirements. This is a good site to check your speed. http://www.speedtest.net/ Internet Connection Speed Recommendations Below are the Internet download speed recommendations per stream for playing movies and TV shows through Netflix.
  • 0.5 Megabits per second - Required broadband connection speed
  • 1.5 Megabits per second - Recommended broadband connection speed
  • 3.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for SD quality
  • 5.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for HD quality
  • 25 Megabits per second - Recommended for Ultra HD quality
HD Video Quality
Movies and TV shows we have available in high definition will play in 720p or better with a fast enough internet connection. To watch Netflix in HD, ensure you have a HD plan, then set your video quality setting to High in the Playback Settings for your account.
Netflix Bandwidth Usage
Higher quality video uses more bandwidth than lower-quality video. If your service provider applies a bandwidth or data cap to your Internet service, you canManage Bandwidth Usage by changing the video quality settings to Low or Medium to consume less data.
