How to Clean Your Ducted Air Conditioning Filters

  • First thing first: how often should you clean them?
As a general rule: every 3 months or so. To easily keep track of it, think: I gotta clean them every time we start a new season.
  • When is it time to clean and when is it time to replace? the moment there are holes, or you can't see through them: replace.

How to clean ducted systems filters?

    1. Unscrew the frame.
    2. Unhinge the frame and pull towards you. This should expose the air filter.
    3. Gently slide the filter off the frame.
    4. Either hose down the filter outside or run it under the tap in your laundry sink until all the dust is removed. You should be able to see through it clearly now.
    5. Flip the filter and hose down the other side to remove any remaining trapped dust.
    6. Shake off any excess water and leave outside to dry naturally.
    7. Once it is completely dry, re-fit the filter into the frame, close it and tighten the screw.

Samsung home theatre ht-e6750w keeps turning itself down

If by turning itself down you are referring to the volume I had the same thing happen to my HT-E6730W a few months ago. I believe I did a reset and the problem went away. The only other thing I could think of was to take the batteries out of the remote and see if the problem continued to rule that out.

Need to oil the 7132L sewing machine. Getting very noisy.

Very much more likely that you need to clean it, especially around where the bobbin case sits as this is an area where much lint collects and gives the symptoms you describe (albeit briefly)
Ad hoc oiling is NOT recommended as most folk tend to drown the machine any/everywhere and then we service techs have to clean it all out !!

TURN OFF & UNPLUG THE MACHINE Do a good clean first with a tissue moistened with methylated (denatured) spirit then try a sample, it will likely be a big improvement
Budget for a proper service every 12-24 months and you will never need to be without your machine when you need it (generally Sunday afternoon WHEN EVERYTHING IS SHUT ??)
Basic rules for lubrication- apply VERY SMALL qty to all moving parts, Upper/ lower shaft bushings, crank junctions where they turn...all things that move.
Now if you cannot easily gain access to the interior and you have a 2 piece split casing rather than a bunch of panels you can remove easily......DON'T try to take it apart. There will be small plastic clips that WILL BREAK.

How often do I need to have my airconditioning system serviced?

Great question.....with general homeowner maintenance of cleaning outdoor unit and changing filters, I would say every couple years. BUT, if unit is older and you cant keep up with service yourself, once a year is the general rule of thumb. If you can keep things cleaned and filter changed, I would say every 2-3 years just to make sure efficiency is high enough.
