Tip & How-To about Denon Reciever Dra-345r

DENON DRA345R Loudspeaker Relays Replacement

My 24 years old DENON DRA345R receiver stopt working properly, I suspected that the output relays contacts were not OK anymore. If your receiver is not working after power up, and you first need to increase volume to get unit make sound again, and than can go to lower volume, most likely the relays contacts are totally worn out. At a certain moment no sound was coming out of the amplifier, and the proection circuit started to react to the poor contacts, so I needed to do something. I replaced the Relays with a OMRON G2R-2A4-24DC, and this problem was fully solved. It is not an expensive relays. If you can not find a supplier, I bought it at tme.eu . Amplifier is now working again very fine for a few days, hope for many years to come.

Regards, and success with the repair,

Why am I not getting sound anymore?

Amplifier issue. See if you are getting audio signal at audio outputs used for recording. If not, then it is NOT the audio amp and the proceeding circuits are responsible.

U might also want to check out your power supply voltages to make sure that the other components are being properly fed.

my denon receiver avr-4802, has a clicking sound when i always turn it on

you haven't specified about its working. Whether it works properly after the clicking or not. It is normal to all Hi-Power amps, there will be a click sound, catching speaker output relay. If the amp works properly, the click sound can neglected. But if amp cuts off after the click sound, there is something fault. It can be inside the amp or outside to connections to speaker. If it cliks and shuts off/stanby, protection circuit inside it has the fault and should be rectified. To look into that section, one must have through knoledge in electonics, and have experience in trouble shooting, because it is the most complicated circuit part of that system. Ok.

No Sound

I had also the same problem. If you see the "digital" sign blinking on the display, it means the DSP to not start properly. You need to change the IC, AT49LV002-70TC (IC 817 ) at DSP board (Denon P/N 262 3010 006).
