Tip & How-To about Electrical Supplies

Warning for electrical work!

It is scary reading some questions on electrical work. When someone asks how to wire a circuit panel, that worries me. Please do not work on any electrical equipment if you are not trained in electricity. Even if the power is off, there is always a possibility for electrical shock! Not only is your personal safety at risk, but also your home! Fires can start with improper wiring. If you are unsure, please don't take a chance, call a professional! Stay safe!!!!

Could be a blown fuse on the power pole. If one phase has a blown fuse you will get less voltage at the house.

to connect to breaker panel I have 2 15 amp breaker how do I connect my wireing where the black go and the white go what about the two breaker

circuit breakers snap on to the panels. the black(or red) hot wires attach to the breakers. the circuit breaker protect the hot/live wires. the white/neutral wires attach to the neutral bar in the circuit breaker box just like the ones that are already there. the green/ground wire attach to the ground bar, like the ones already there. however, if you have to ask, you may not want to do this on your own. find someone who knows what they are doing. electricity kills. if you really don't know what you are doing, can get you severely injured, or start a fire, or hurt someone else. find some help, please.

renting old house with old power box uses 'plug in fuses' , doesnt have cut off safety switch ,i heard that i can by circut breakers to stop any surges and plug them into fuse box ,does that sound right ? cheers

Wow, all due respect, but someone would really be negligent to offer you a solution to this problem. An electrical panel isn't something to mess with, especially if you're asking these type of questions. Contact a professional electrician in your area or run the risk of electrocuting (that's DEAD by electricity) yourself. Good luck, and please be safe.
