Before you leave for a vacation and you have a refrigerator that has water and ice, you should always turn the water off that goes to it as the water valve can go bad at any time and if it does it will flood your kitchen. So turn of the water to the valve and enjoy your vacation.

water doesn't enter ice maker tray
You probaby just have an air lock somewhere. Trace the tube to where it taps into the water pipe. Remove the hose and blow thru it.

Icemaker stuck in 'vacation mode'
Feel inside the ice slots are there any old cubes that have evaporated in time? Take the ice maker out and clean it up and place it back inside to see if it will fill with fresh water. Take a hair dryer and melt the old ice inside the slots and see if it will try to fill. I will wait for a response from you.

Check the power conection to the ice maker. If that's ok, then I would think the solenoid that controls the water flow has gone bad. Unfortunately, you will likely have to replace the whole ice maker, I don't think they are reparable.
