Tip & How-To about HP Computers & Internet

There are 2 little problems with the hp omni 100 all in one , the first is if the unit is unable to boot to bios you can reset the bios by moving the blue jumper located next to the ram over 1 position for 10sec or so then move it back to the first position , the other is you need a temperature measuring software for the GPU mainly when watching hd movies of playing games that use the 3d side of things as the ventilation for the heatsink is enclosed and not venting outside , it does help if you leave the panel off , this is a design fault and will lead to GPU problems over time .

my omni will not power on blank screen only

Hi Julie,

Have you checked all your connections? Where there any odd smells such as burning or anything of that nature? Any sounds when it starts to boot up?

hp omni 1`000 all in one computer wont fully boot into windows

a desk top PC?, what is it? use full names of things.
you never said what the screed did, is it black all the time.
if yes, does BIOS screens work?
F11 key, (the magic key) on older HP its F10 older still (none)
what year PC is this, full model number , type it out full off the service tag.... i cant guess omni this is. there are 29 models and subs.

The newer HP systems, all have this F11 key
this is the magic key as you boot, you hit it fast (tap tap tap)
and it goes in to recover mode. My 2006 Laptop does.
the HDD if still working and corrupted,
will run the virtual installer disk, via a hidden partition on said HDD>
if that is confusing, try to imagine 3 ways to install.

HP recover disk called the media kit. (uses on replace HDD )
MS disks, wrong, and will fail., ask how if must,,,,

if you and gone to HP forum or the support page
you'd have seen there is may different omin100s, lots
sorry cant guess yours...

you asked for help and cant muster up the service tag words
full model at least.

if you had id have pointed to the page that tells you what to do step by step, at HP.com
even what to do when it dont boot, all ways from SUNDAY.
the oldest one supported is 2010 year.
here is 100-5000 omni ,series, many in series.

and last
no start actual pages... i see it covers most ways, (weak on hardware causes, there are vast cause under that topic, ask)

hp omni 100 all in one takes 4 hrs to boot and says unable to bootwill

some came with W7 others W8, yours came with W8
or did you down grade it wrong, like many did, hating W8?????
4 hours to boot. sounds like >....
(bad HDD, or infected OS, or you
"AMD Fusion E450 (Zacate) Dual Core processor soldered down on the motherboard"

the F11 key at power on , runs the restore W7 partition !
if w8 new, then w8 now, if you down graded it, IT WILL FAIL>!!!
Ill pretend W7 day 1, new
Ill pretend , you never once used MS, media here of any kind.
NO MS ISO.s or MS disks./sticks, of any kind.
Ill pretend its still 100% HP, (be wise)
if that fails F11 that means the partition is damaged, (file or hdd bad)
run HDD tests yet, not just simple chkdsk?

there are only 3 cures, possible.
1: F11, (fails you said) but not clearly. read page 10 yet????

2: HP, media kit buy it and load fresh, HP W7,
both fail if HDD is bad, testing any HDD is a long process.
using powerful HDD test software. can take a day to run that..
and the horror way.... (I do it all the time but am READY)
3: use Microsoft, W7 install media and then all HP drivers are dead.
but can be fixed, if time is not money.

what I do is move the HDD to a real DT PC. Desktop)
and plug it in say as drive E: (using adaptors , have them all I do)
then test it 100 %using powerful HDD tests. and powerful A/T scans. from Eset.com

Im not listing 100s of programs that do that, there are endless eon,s
use a non destructive tests.
run crystal-disk SMART yet?, to see if HDD is end of life ?
no spare , sectors is that, END OF LIFE>

the PC had a 500GB hdd.
why not get a new SSD and end this.
bet the media kit and move on
(if backed up , are you,) that be first, (ask or google that)

here is your support page

here is the media kit,
Id get this , and keep if for life of PC, be best.
not one HDD lasts for ever, we plan ahead to be ready when it dies. as all DO. Be like boy scout,?

HP has best support of any company, no , im not HP, im retired, non HP, if you want to leave HP support, say so and we can talk all day on that, ..
