Dyson AM10 Hygienic Mist humidifier - Monthly cleaning

The video below shows how to correctly carry out the simple monthly or pre-storage cleaning process for your Dyson AM10 Hygienic Mist humidifier.

Cleaning procedures must be routinely followed to ensure that the humidifier continues to operate efficiently. Cleaning regimes are designed to help prevent the build up of scale within the machine, which will be more prominent in hard water areas. Failure to adhere to the cleaning regimes may invalidate the warranty.

Please note we recommend unplugging the machine for at least 10 minutes prior to any user maintenance or cleaning as some components may become hot during normal use.

Do not allow the machine to run in humidifier mode without water in the tank.

Other cleaning solutions are available. Please check these are suitable for use with plastics and then use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Examples of other suitable cleaning materials are descalers, foam soaps without an antibacterial agent, and vinegar.

NB: Some cleaning chemicals are harmful to the machine and should not be used. Use of these will invalidate your guarantee. Do not use: Alcohol and strong acid mixes, solvent (acetone) and oil based products, alkali bleach mixes, air fresheners, aroma oils, scented oils, hot water, brushes, abrasive materials, etc. Please do not put in a dishwasher or close to a fire.

Why can't I see mist coming out of my new dyson am10 humidifier?

Is the little ultrasonic disk clean, or is there hard scale on it? If there are hardened deposits on the disk they will stop it from vibrating. Be careful not to damage it by scraping or digging with a tool. I have found that the best way to clean it is with a Waterpik, turned all the way up. It often takes ten minutes of work to clear it off. This is MESSY, do it in the shower, or outside.

We have a Sunbeam Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier that we bought just over 2 months ago. Up until a couple of days ago, it was producing mist and running just fine. I cleaned it with the brush and got the mineral junk out of the base as well as off any surfaces i could reach. Put the canister back on the base and still, no mist.

I have this same problem. And cool mist humidifiers DO produce mist. I have had my humidifier for a while now (6 years) and have never had any problems. But after the most recent cleaning, it worked at first, but now seems to not be working anymore... Am also wondering if there is anything I can do to remedy the situation?
