Tip & How-To about Radio Communications

Top five benefits of using a pager

Pagers may seem like a thing of the past in today's day and age of cell phones and instant messengers but there are some very distinct benefits to using pager systems over cell phones.

1. Pagers have a much wider reach than your traditional cell phone because they use satellites. This leads to their being less dead zones for pagers, they can also be strong enough to work in underground situations so you don't lose your signal when you get on the subway.

2. Pagers are used for medical professionals and emergency response teams because they are reliable and fast. When you attend an event with a few thousand people you will notice that your phones service will probably be down to no bars, but for the people with pagers they will have the same service they always have. These messages are also delivered fast because the people using them tend to be in professions that time is quite literally everything.

3. As cell phones continue to advance and add on more and more features. Pagers have been able to stay inexpensive and true to the task that they do. There are very few add ons or features that have been added to the pager since they have been in use so there is much less room for companies to overcharge the user.

4. Mass messaging from a cell phone can be very difficult and unreliable, but when it comes to paging a large number of units it can be as simple as making a single phone call. It is for this reason that emergency response teams use pagers because time is of the essence when it comes to assembling an emergency response team.

5. A little known fact about pagers is that they can be combined with various different technologies to be altered of a situation. Lets say that you are a factory manager you can connect a pager to the machine and be altered the instant something is not working properly.

i want to know how to register for yahoo chat from a phone

As more people become attached to their cell phones, they are looking for new ways to keep in touch without wasting their minutes. Text messages are alright if you have unlimited plans, otherwise, holding a conversation can become quite expensive. Thankfully, most cell phones allow for instant messenger programs such as Yahoo Instant Messenger to be installed quickly and easily.

Downloading Through a Cell Phone

1.Power on your cell phone and allow it to boot up as normal.

2.Open your phone's browser. If you are using a cell phone that is not a smart phone, your browser will most likely open directly to your carrier's mobile site.

3.Scroll down to the "Downloads" menu. From there, scroll to where you see "Yahoo Instant Messenger."

4.Select "Yahoo Instant Messenger" and select "Install." The program will then download onto your cell phone and install automatically.

Downloading Through a Smart Phone

1.Power on your cell phone and allow it to boot up as normal.

2.Open your cell phone's Internet browser. Wait for the browser to fully load before moving on to avoid potential complications.

3.Type the following URL into the browser: "get.go.yahoo.com." After entering the URL, hit "Enter."

4.After the Yahoo Mobile Web page loads, click "Get Yahoo Go Now" and follow any instructions that appear on your phone.

5.Follow the instructions and click "Install." The program will then download directly to your phone and install itself, prompting you when it is completed.

Ive used the instant messenger on my Pantech Matrix since ive had it (aout 3 days) and now it wont load.

You must make sure you have internet through your cell phone company.. you may also want to make sure you are not logged in to any IM services on your computers or other hardwares that can use instant messenger...

cannot sign in

Yahoo seems to be having severe issues with messenger the past few days. I have been getting numerous log off errors and disconnects, give it a few days and if it still happens try reinstalling.
I would say that it is a server problem that they are having though.

screen frozen on Instant Messenger screen

remove the battery, replace the battery back into the phone and let it reboot.
one thing i would suggest is to use one of your chat programs at a time, yahoo or msn but both may be maxing your phones ram memory out.
