DVDV809-04

You need to convert your machine to an all-region player. The following hack works for Diamond Vision models 803 and 807 - there's a good chance it will work for the 809 provided they've used the same firmware for this model.

The region-free hack works as follows:

1.) Turn on the power and wait until the 'NO DISC' message appears, then press OPEN/CLOSE on the unit itself to open the door of the DVD player

2.) On the remote control, press SETUP. A menu will appear onscreen.

3.) Enter the following number sequence via remote: 1 3 8 9

4.) A different menu will appear. Your cursor should now be sitting in a box with the current region displayed. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys on the remote control to display a specific region's numerical code, or select '0' (this is the number zero - not the letter o ... this is the region-free setting).

5.) Press ENTER and then SETUP to exit.

6.) Your DVD player will now play DVDs from all other regions. The code only has to be entered once. Powering down will not cause the Diamond Vision to lose its region-free setting. An added plus: it automatically senses PAL/NTSC signals but it will output to an NTSC tv set.

Can't access the preferences tab

Hi,

Pls try a full master reset which if done correctly would revert the unit back to factory default:
1. Power on the unit;
2. open the front panel lid to have access to the controls;
3. simultaneously press and hold the channel up and down buttons;
4. wait till "BYE" is displayed;
5. wait till clock switches off;
6. power on again and re-configure.

You may need to restore "Region Free"
1. Power on the DVP 3005.
2. Bring up the System Menu.
3. Navigate to the Preferences page.
4. Press the following combination of keys on your remote in this order to bring up the secret menu showing the Region Code.
1 3 5 5 6 6.
5. Use the arrow keys on the remote control to change the Region. To make it region free, set the Region code to “0′ (zero).
6. Exit the System Menu.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
