Fan cleaning on sony LCD

Have you cleaned the fan, vents, heatsink? If a laptop overheats, due to dust, poor ventilation, blocked vents, it will shut down to prevent damage to vital components. Clean, improve air flow through the bottom and out the vents. Never use on soft surfaces that can block air flow. Contrary to the name, Laptop, it's not good to use on your lap. Go figure? If the Laptop is Clean and air flow isn't a problem, open Power Settings in Control Panel,and change Advanced Power settings to Sleep/Hibernate to Never, set to High Performance, unplug and remove battery when not in use. If you use mostly on AC remove battery.

which fan is doing this? Mostly likely it is caused by dust or overheating. Use a can of compressed air found at any electronics store to clean the dust out from inside the computer. If that doesn't solve the problem I would next try replacing the fan.

Check your lint filter. Keep it clean every time you dry clothes. If it is clean ther is a good chance the hose that carries the hot air and lint from machine to the outside of the building. Also the lint fan may be burned ot. YOu should feel air blowing when you pull the lint filter out of the machine. If not the motor is shot.

Very Very Carefully disassemble the laptop, and clean out the processor fan, and any other "vent" looking things. Lots of times hair (especially pet), dust and other pollutants will clog these, or they may stop working all together, and need replaced.

Sounds as if there is something (lint buildup maybe) that is blocking the air flow inside this machine. You need to remove the top and front of this machine so you can view in internal working parts. Clean it out the best you can and also remove the rear cover and check where the fan blade is located and this general area. I have seen rats nests built inside the tubes that will block air flow and create a fire hazard.
