Tip & How-To about Acer Computers & Internet
When you post a problem on Fixya, it is frustrating to have no information given by the person asking for help.
You wouldn't go to the emergency room unless you had symptoms, and you wouldn't expect help unless you could explain the problem you are having.
I frequently post clarification requests that say give more info please. Here is the minimum that you should provide when you ask for help, either from Fixya or from anyone else.
The Problem: Is it a blue screen, computer does not turn on, a certain game doesn't work, you get a weird popup on the screen, No picture on screen, etc., etc.
Your computer's specifications: Right Click "computer", select properties and note the following:
RAM
CPU
Version of windows
You should also include what antivirus you are using if any.
(see picture below)
Frequency: has this happened once, or multiple times? If you get a single crash, restart and try again. If it keeps happening, include that as well.
Changes to your system: Have you recently installed more memory, added a new hard drive of CD drive? Has your home been hit by lightning or flooded?
What have you tried so far? If you have already run your system diagnostics (not all PC's include a diagnostic) you should include that as well. If you haven't tried anything yet, that is OK, but just include that as well. This will help the tech to help you with your problem, and provide faster, more relevant solutions.
As always, good luck in your endeavors!
