Tip & How-To about Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Bagless Vacuum

Change the belt

You need a phillips screwdriver with a good point because the screws are small. Dirt is goning to fall out,so be ready.---O.K.-- I usually sit on a folding chair outside with the vac upside-down on my lap & the handle between my legs. The screws you must remove are located in recessed holes around the brushes & back towards the wheels. These hold on the base plate.Take this off & the drive shaft should be visible. The beater bar (brushes) should slide straight out towards you. (You may want to look for clogs & generally clean this area now.) Loop the new belt over the end of the beater bar nearest the drive shaft & line it up with the gap in the brissles, then slide the beater bar back in place. Now's the hard part--Hold the beater bar in & pull the belt straight back over the drive shaft--Make sure it's on all the way & lined up straight with no kinks or twists. Replace the baseplate (Don't over tighten the screws or they will strip out & not hold) &you're done.

My Rooma 500 series, when I press the start button to go....it sounds like it wants to move forward and the sings a song and doesn't move

I agree with the previous poster, every time you run Romba, you have to empty out the dirt compartment, take the beater brushes off and pull the hair, lint and thread off the brushes (if you use a cat or dog brush this works fantastically) and remove the lint that's wrapped around the ends of the beater brushes. Every other time, you need to remove the thread and hair wrapped around the rotating brush (sometimes you need to remove the Phillips head screw holding this on and really clean it out). Finally the rolling ball wheel needs to be popped out using a narrow, small screwdriver and all the stuff trapped in there removed.

replace headlight bulb

Usually there is a small Phillips screw under the plastic lamp cover. Remove that, remove the cover and unscrew the bulb. Replace the cover and the screw.

Some covers may have a slot or two slots and you need a slim screwdriver in each slot to push back some locking tabs to release the cover. Don't push too hard or they might snap off.

Kenmore Elegance Vacuum cleaner - power bar not working

The problem almost certainly is that the axle of the brush in your power bar has dirt/fluff in it that is preventing the belt from turning it so that the fuse in the power bar clicks off after 2 or 3 seconds. It is fairly easy to fix. All you will need is a Phillips screwdriver and about 15 minutes. Follow the following steps

1. With the power bar disconnected from the vacuum, turn it upside down and you will see two inset screws at the rear side of the base of the power bar. Unscrew these two screws using your Phillips screwdriver.

2. With the power bar in the same position unlatch the two plastic tabs at the rear of the power par. [It may be useful to flip up the metal bar that you see on the base to use as a handle] On each side of the base you will see an arrow saying insert screwdriver here to release. Insert a screwdriver and lever the plastic of the base slightly apart from the plastic of the side. When you have done this for both sides the base should lift off.

3. Now lift the brush including the two end pieces straight up. It should just slide up. You will need to unhook the drive belt from the brush as you lift it out.

4.Pull of each end piece and clean the dust, lint, hair off the end piece and from inside the end of the brush.

5.Once clean, reinstall the end pieces on the brush. Hook the belt back over the brush to its original position and slide the brush back into the power bar.

6. Reinstall the base by hooking the tabs from the front of the base into the small openings on the power bar.then push the base down until it clicks back into place and the tabs are back in their original position. Reinstall the two screws you removed earlier.

7. The power bar should now work. Good luck.

power cord broken inside s251i miele How do i open the s251i ????

HOW TO OPEN MIELE 251 VACCUUM: 1-Unplug from wall and disconnect power cord 2-Remove black switch panel at back of top panel: A-Use Phillips screwdriver, remove two silver screws visible between back of hinged top door and front of black switch panel
B-Push back of the panel down while pushing it forward (towards front of machine). There are two plastic notches and clips which are tightly fit together that you need to separate.
Once it releases, push it a bit more towards the front of the machine and lift off panel. It has wires connecting it to the main body so it will not remove completely.
C-Be careful not to lose the springs that simply sit inside of two plastic channels, one under each of the two switches. These are required for your witches to operate properly.
3-Locate screw at bottom of deep rectangular hole now revealed (under former location of black switch panels). Unscrew using Phillips screwdriver. 4-Open hinged top panel. Locate two silver screws, one on each side of main housing. Unscrew using Phillips screwdriver. 5-This will let you lift off the whole top assembly, door and main housing, revealing the plastic chassis and the motor unit within.
You now have access to the motor, wiring connector harnesses, circuit board and the cord reel.
