Yes, the belt is probably too loose or broken...
replace the belt first before trying anything else..

Hello, your Fantom vacuum will take a Panasonic U vac belt, to replace it, their are two screws in the back, one on each side of the back of the housing, take out the two screws and lift off the top hood, and the vac belt is on the side, remove the brush roller clean any debis away, put the new belt around the metal motor shaft first then around the brush roller, and pull down into the housing, make sure it locks in evenly, then turn the roller to make sure it moves freely. then put the hood back on front first, hold down and put the screws back in, in the back. now your ready to vacuum. you have to take the headlight lenses off with a small screwdriver. then a philips screwdriver to take the 2 screws out. one each side. then remove the foil shields on each headlight . then snap loose the rear plastic clips on the cover and it will come right off. it took me an hour to find out how and 10 minutes or less to take it off. watch for the micro switch on the circuit board being worn out.it will stop the roller brush from turning.its a dollar part at any good electronics store ,but will have to be soldiered in or service might have a few from the westinghouse line .so will a broken belt which is a special grooved belt available from fantom at 18007987395..

these cordless units are no more than a broom. toss it out and go buy a real vacuum with a cord. FYI cheap vacuums are cheap vacuums. if you want something to last a do a great job you have to put out a little more money for it.

Actually there was no category for clothes steamer, and before entering information I was prompted to pick a category so I chose vacuums hoping that when my problem was diagnosed it would be understood that the problem is a clothes steamer that has stopped giving off steam. Alot depends on the type of hose. There are plastic hoses and rubber hoses. Generally you can use a smaller plastic connector to connect two rubber hoses together and visa versa, Make sure it is a snug fix. You could also use an adhesive to keep it together.

That would depend on the make and model of the steamer.

The only thing to do is to replace the damaged motor. Probably more cost efficient to replace the complete machine.
