AT&T 1726 Digital Answering Machine Questions & Answers
We had messages on the
Hi, dial your telephone number using a touch tone telephone. When the answering machine picks up and begins to play your outgoing message, enter your remote access code. Your answering machine will announce the number of messages you have and then beep twice.
Wait for the machine to begin to play your messages. It should start after about four seconds. Use the relevant keys to repeat, skip, save or delete a message. You can also repeat a part of a message or back up to previous messages.

Messages ALL erased!
The answering machine is supposed to save messages during a power failure. If the messages are gone, then the unit is defective.

Power failure message.
Power Failure Recovery
If the system is disconnected from the AC power it will not operate. Your announcemen and messages are retained in memory during a power failure but you will need to reset the clock. See the instructions on the bottom of the unit. If the message window displays CL, you need to reset the clock. See the instruction on the bottom of the unit.

Won't record messages anymore
Record Your Announcement
You must record your announcements (A, b,C and RO) one at a time.
1 Select the announcement you wish to record.
2 Press and hold "ANNC/SKIP". When the system beeps, speak toward the microphone normally, from about nine inches away.
3 To stop recording, release "ANNC/SKIP". The system automatically plays back your announcement.
To review your announcement, press and release "ANNC/SKIP".
To erase your announcement and return to the pre-recorded announcement press "DELETE" while your announcement is playing.

Moving a Message to Another Mailbox
You can move a message from one mailbox to another. The message is saved a a new message in the mailbox to which it's been added and is deleted from the original mailbox.
1 While the message you want to move is playing press "setup". The system beeps and stops playback, the Message Window displays CP (for copy) and the Mailbox lights flash.
2 Press the MBox button where you want to move the message. The system resumes playing messages in the original mailbox.

Playing back messages on the AT&T 1725
Press the mail box button quickly to hear only new messages. Press and hold until you hear the system respond to hear all messages. Press again to stop playback.

1726 does not record messages
System will not record messages
When memory is full, saved messages must be deleted before new messages can be recorded.
If RO (announce only) is selected, no messages will be recorded.
