How to set utilitech wall timer for dusk/dawn

The Utilitec 0192773 timer has astro dusk-to-dawn functions.

The manual is very unclear at the exact point you need it to say how to set dusk-to-dawn.

The following page has the manual, with explanation how to find the astro dawn-to-dusk setting
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

When you are programming the timer, press TIME button and hours start flashing.
Press the +/- button ... the trick is to keep pushing the +/- button until it finally gets to astro, and the sun-moon symbol shows on display.
When the sun-moon symbol shows, the display also shows AM.
Press the +/- again and PM show.

So if you want Program1 to turn lights ON at dusk (PM), then your display needs to show: 1 ON PM sun-moon.
To continue setting astro, do not set hours, just press PROG button.
Then repeat the steps above until: 1 OFF AM sun-moon show on display.

Utilitech self adjusting wall timer used in place

Your INTERMATIC ST01C Digital In-Wall Timer is not compatible with a REGULAR three-way switch configuration... ((besides being a rather poor timer ( my opinion ))). Following WIRE colors is TOTALLY INCORRECT... (and dangerous). The only way you can "use" this switch is to OVER-RIDE both 3 way switches... BUT YOU SERIOUSLY NEED to KNOW WHAT you are doing...!! I would seriously recommend you consider "SMART" switches... Check out home automation or SMART-HOME ... Insteon... X10 or even LEVITON's remote capable switches... Each end of a "3-way" circuit work closely together... are HARD-WIRED and CANNOT be easily, conveniently or safely overridden (in my opinion). Hope this helps... Naaah... My electronic timer will not switch on automaticlly anymore

Mine sometimes switches itself (!) From AUTO or PGM to SETUP. Simply use your fingernail to open top of door/switch and touch "Mode" button until it reads PGM or AUTO or MAN, as you wish.

I have a utilitech 0192773 self adjusting timer

Do not go to Utilitech.com; it's a different company. It's actually at place called TheNCC and is in tiny, tiny print at the bottom of the instructions.

Instead, go to:
http://thencc.com/ncc/support_results.asp?criteria=192773&Submit=Go&SearchRun=RunGo

You should find a PDF for the product and then zoom in to be able to read the instructions. I was not able to read instructions that came in packaging.

Can utilitech timer, 0154182, be located at ground level and must it be in an upright position?

Don't put timer at ground level where it can get wet of covered with snow. Otherwise will work in any position as long as photoeye turned away from lights. http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#photo-eye Gene h If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gene_9f0ef4df2f9897e7

Add a comment with more information:1) Brand and model number of fan and remote so expert can access product manual. Without product manual, we're guessing. If product manual has a phone number call it.2) Attach clear in-focus photo of existing switch with all wires for best possible guess.3) get a tester and find which wire inside the box is hot. Turn off switch and test each black wire to bare ground wire.Geneh If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gene_9f0ef4df2f9897e7
