Rca tech support: message light blinking
You apparently have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
How do I stop the red message light from blinking after I have received my messages
~*~*~ SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED! ~*~*~ After talking to both ATT and RCA with no success...I figured it out. ~*~*~ Plug your phone line into the "DATA PORT" on the back of the unit. Slide the "DATA PORT" switch to whichever line is showing it has a message. Press the corresponding Line# button on the front of the phone. (you should hear the dial tone) Dial your voice mail number. Let it answer, (enter your passcode if needed), then hang up! - That's it! example: MSG Waiting:L2 - I plugged the phone line into the Data Port and moved the data port switch to "2". I pressed LINE 2 on the front of the phone, dialed my voice mail number, it answered, I put in my passcode. (It said that I did not have any new voice mails), then hung up! That's it! Message Indicator light off!!! Repeat for each line that shows a (false) message waiting. ~~~Don't forget to move your phone line back into it's correct port on the back of your phone.~~~

RCA Visys 25202 phone. Caller ID Displays "No Data"
This sounds like a central office problem. The called id information
is normally transmitted in Bell 201 (1200 baud) between the first and
2nd ring. Your phone seem to be saying either saying there is nothing
in the data stream, or it isn't getting the data stream at all. So the
leading candidates in order are the Central Office and the ONT.
power off... if that doesnt work, do a hard reset take the battery out, and put it back after then . Turn on the phone.
The message indicator light will not stop flashing
The term we used for this back when I worked for the phone company was a "stuck message waiting indicator" and the way to fix it was:
Call yourself and leave a message.
Hang up and wait 2 minutes (we used to say 5 minutes, but 2 is plenty)
Retreive/delete your voice mail message
Hang up and wait 2 minutes
That should clear the blinking light.
I have a 4 line
To resolve, you must hard reset the phone as follows:
1. unplug power
cord, unplug phone cord, remove all batteries.
2. Leave disconnected in
this state for at least 10 minutes.
3. Now reconnect in following order:
reinstalling batteries, reattach the phone cord followed by plugging in
the power cord.
4. This restores the phone to the original settings. You
will lose items in memory, but the phone dial function should be
restored. This was recommended by customer service and resolved my
issue which sounds identical to yours. You can now proceed with
resetting up your phone as desired.
Message Indicator Light Continues to Flash
Don't know about other models, but I just called RCA small business phone support (800-511-3180) to find out how to clear the message light indicator on my 25210 2-line cordless phone when it continues to blink but there is no message.
All you have to do is hold down the delete button for a few seconds and it will clear. Hope this helps someone else from going batty!
CANT GET INTERCOM TO WORK
Be sure you are pressing the correct extension key for the phone you are attempting to call. Just press 'intercom' and the key number (from the right side of the phone marked 1-16).
Lines 2,3 & 4...caller ID working fine.
Call your phone company as see if they have caller ID on that line. If it works on all of the other lines then the phones seem to be wroking properly so I'd go to the phone company.
RCA Visys 25204RE1 Message indicator light not working
If it works sometimes, then it might be a problem with the phone or the phone line itself.
If it never works at all, then it's a problem with the services that the phone company has enabled/disabled on the line.
If that's the case, call your phone company's repair line and explain the situation. They can check to confirm that the message waiting indicator service is provisioned on the line, or add it if it's not.
No dail tone
Check the cor and cos setting of the phone It shold have the permissions to call outside

RCA 25414 message light... doesn't
I have 6 of these phones. No problem for a year or so, then one phone got the message light stuck on. Tried some online suggestions without success. Powering down etc. failed to fix it so I stuck a piece of tape over the led.
A couple of weeks ago line 2 failed (externally) and ATT sent a tech out who repaired it and also cleaned up the line. When the line came back, all 6 phones had the message light stuck on!
Talked with the tech here and with the ATT support and nothing worked. Eventually the tech here left as it was not a line fault - but he said he would leave the problem open.
That evening a young ATT guy called. He tried a number of different settings and changes - he was really determined! He called Kentucky and Minnesota and part of the advice was "give up and don't call the customer back"!
Finally he found a configuration option in the central office switch (exchange) for the line called CWMI (Call Waiting Message Indicator). Apparently this option was originally active but was changed when the local trunk was upgraded to fibre over the last year or so.
Once he enabled this option (we have call waiting and caller ID on call waiting on this line), the message lights on all the phones turned off and have worked normally since (10 days), including the one that was "broken" for over a year!
I really credit the tech with persistance on the issue.
Hope this helps someone else out there.
Regards, Hugh
Voice mail indicator light is always on
I recently changed my number and when I did, I received the same problem. It appears that AT&T didn't add the Message Indicator Light service to my new number. Once they did, the message light works!
Try calling your phone service provider and asking if they have a Message Indicator Light function.
