Possible manual, depending upon model which has not be provided in your posting.

Other web sites simply state "current sensor error" without explanation.

You may need to pay professional repair, or purchase a replacement air conditioner.

E154 Error in Samsung Air-Conditioners If E1 and then 54 is displayed on the display panel after switching on the air-con, this indicates fan motor or capacitor is defective. Replacement is needed.

Do you see any other digits alternating with the E4? Most of the error codes that I know with Samsung split system air conditioning units have three digits after the E. Depending on the last two digits, the error could be with the control board (printed circuit board), the fan, a sensor connected to the control board or the wiring. See for some ideas.

I found the User Manual for the Samsung AQV24TWDN here: . Scroll down or use the Download User Manual link. The direct link to the manual is[email protected]_IBIM_33367A_E_1.29.13.pdf&OriginYN=Y .

Please add a comment with the full error code for your air conditioner.

It could be the temperature sensor. It is the short , usually black wire that runs across the front of the air handler. Unplug it, and check it with a meter set to ohms. If it reads a value it is good. If you get nothing it is shorted, and needs to be replaced. If it reads good, you may need to replace the main board on the handler.

Error code 438 indicates a problem the EEV (electronic expansion valve) opening. This problem would require a trained technician to correct.

if you put a magnet on the valve you can spin the magnet around and manually open the valve. could be a bad motor, bad sensor, bad board, many things. cycle the powerand see what happens

That error number is not listed in the owners manual. Perhaps you are reading the LEDs incorrectly. On page 47 of this manual is a list of error codes and causes which includes the LED displays.
