I understand that your Refridgerator is not getting cold. I do not know if it is just the fridge or the fridge and freezer. If both are getting warm then you need to make sure the compressor is running in the back at the bottom of the fridge it will be humming. If the compressor is not running then nothing is going to get cold.

If the compressor is running then you may have a problem with your fan not running inorder to move around the cold air. Below are two tips that will help you to check both of them.

OK maybe try 1/4 inch counterclockwise and pull down. Here is what the service manual quotes.


That is easy for anyone to misread.
Water Filter Removal

The water filter is located in the upper right-hand

corner of the refrigerator. The water filter filters water

for the ice maker and the water dispenser.

1. Turn the water filter 1/2 turn counterclockwise and

pull it down.

2. To install the filter, align the indication mark

(unlock position) and push it up while turning 1/2

turn clockwise until the lock position is aligned.

I would say it probably needs defrosted. Check for thick ice buildup, more then 1 inch. Remove gently as possible. May just need turned down a bit. Adjustment is inside refridgerator on side or above top shelf. Best of luck. Hope this has helped!

Same problem, phoned samsung and was told an engineer will come and fix my fridge freezer free of charge as it is a problem with all these models. 0845 726 7864 uk number option 4....

This could be caused by a few things, so start with the easiest, and make sure that the ice level bar/on/off switch is in the down position, if that is correct, then replace the water filter, and if that does not work, then there may be an electrical diode in the circuitry that is faulty.

The bearings in the fan are gone or your fridge is not doing a defrost.Most likely not doing a defrost the noise is the fan blades hitting the ice & when you open the door the fan shuts off then as it slows you here the noise get slower.Your defrost heater or defrost sensor has failed & needs to be replaced.You will need to know how to use a multi-meter for an exact diagnosis.P.S the blinking is the computer telling you there is a defrost problem.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It's on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

I guess the freon gas is not circulating properly on the cooling tubes...check for any blockage or damage in the cooling tubes...

This is a sign of a failed "PBA main Board" (computer) on the refrigerator. If it is new I would call Samsung for the warranty repair.

Most common cause for insufficient cooling is either defrost system or frozen damper fan. Both get tested performing a complete defrost.

To test if fan has iced up you simply perform a complete defrost. If the fan restarts working, then it was blocked by ice. The damper fan motor rarely fails. For this reason you usually test other parts before going for the fan. The fan motor can be tested by energizing it directly (jumping its contacts), or by reading Ohms. A faulty temperature control can cause the fan not starting.

The problem is more commonly the defrost system. This part comprises the evaporator and it is located behing the freezer firewall. The function of the defrost system is preventing coils from freezing. When defrost system is defective you get no cooling and the compressor is usually quite busy most of the time.
In defrost system locate and replace the defrost thermostat. This is the part that most commonly fails. The thermostat can be tested reading Ohms at its terminals.
The evap system in this fridge may be quite complex, as most new side-by-side use dual evaporator.
