If it moves just a tiny bit when the door opens and then stops, that's normal.

If it keeps running when the door is open, that's usually due to a bad door switch or broken / loose door switch mount.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and
disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

If the door doesn't work right it is time to buy another microwave. Microwave leaks can be dangerous.

It sounds like the mount which holds tension on your door latch heads (door hooks) is broken. You can confirm that by pushing up on the door hook. If it goes up with no real resistance, the spring is unhooked. Fixing that would require disassembly of the door (by separating the panels) and repairing or replacing either the door hook assembly or the door panel inside.

Probably magnetron failure- needs to go back to the dealers, this is a major job, may be cheaper to replace the oven

It's probably a defective door switch, probably the upper one, or the mount which holds the switch is broken. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP button) is the primary cause of door switch failure. There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door hooks latch when you close the door. The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly. Usually it's not a loose screw, but instead a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position.

I would purchase a new one as it will be impossible to clean and also the repairs required will be excessive

Take it to a Samsung dealer for service, or get a new one. You can't service them yourself as they have security screws to stop you getting inside There is enough stored electricity inside to kill you, plus radiation to blind you and heavy metal elements to poison you.

The only thing you can do is verify it has power and the door is properly shut. Also, does it have a child lock

The control panel will cost more than a new microwave

Sounds like the switch(es) below the keypad pad(s) are sticking or failing. Unfortunately, replacement keypads tend to be expensive, perhaps too expensive for the value of the oven. Search for replacement parts by your Make and model.
