Ok go to your control panel and go to the add or remove programs icon...you may have to look hard for it...if you find it and you see it on the computer but its still not allowing her to play it...click on candyland and there should be a option above it to uninstall...once uninstalled restart the computer and start from scratch put the discs in and do what it prompts you to do ...now eject the disc once the download is finished and then put the disc back in the computer...there should be a AUTO play..... if it doesnt come up right away go to my computer and hit the drive that has her cd in it and that should make it pop up then

Consider that perhaps that program is not compatible with your current computer/OS/video card, etc. Happens.

Try running it in compatibility mode (right click on it ) See if that option is present.

Unfortunately running an older game like this, you will have issues. Make sure you have the latest updates installed. If that doesn't resolve the issue you may not be able to save under windows 7. I would try compatibility for windows 98 before I give up all hope though.

You need to read the case that the CD came in. It will list 'system requirements". I bet that the game is written in 32 or 16 bit language and windows 7 is 64 bit and it is not "backwards" compatible, meaning that it won't run a 16 or 32 bit program.

That game was made for an operating system that more then 15 years old.
If its not working, buy a new addition.

You could try to rightclick the setup.exe, select properties, go to compatibility and run it in Win95 compatibility. You can also try to make a shortcut to the game, then doing the above. There could also be a map called DIrectX on the disk. Try opening the executable in there, install DirectX, then try the game again.
Otherwise you're out of luck. Microsoft doesn't support old games, gets you to buy new ones. I don't like it either, but there's nothing you can do about it but switch back to Win95

Well there are other FREE sites to goto to find Solitaire, free cell, Spyder solitaire and such.
I also think that they meybe hidden files in Windows, but to find them you have to remove Hp games and then do a search
