Dell Latitude e5410...brightness changes from dim to bright on it's own. Not using battery powered. What could be going on?

You could be manually brighting it. Hitting the FN and UP arrow and Down Arrows Dim and brightens the screen, But if it does it on it own check your settings on Power Options in the control panel and on the left you will see Create a power plan sure setting are set to Balanced then click on next. You now get to pick to dim it when plugged in or on battery. I change it to "Never" becuase i like to see the screen brighter save your setting and your done.

Anonymous, Press the Fn + Left arrow key on laptop keyboard to disable Ambient Light Sensor to see if that will resolve the issue. Follow the steps in article http://dell.to/13f7ugH to adjust the brightness manually. Thank You, Dell-Jesse L Dell Social Media and Communities

How do i reset set my dell laptop to factory settings without an administravive password

The only way is to use the re installation disk that came with the laptop when you bought it. The disk should say something like "Reinstallation" or "Restore". You will loose all content. Similar to the picture below. May have different wording and color. cfffd81f-9c41-4798-9b52-dd9b702891c9.jpg If you are not computer literate, I would recommend getting help from someone that has experience.

How to make the picture from laptop to projector the right size.

I would suggest it's probably a screen resolution an older laptop VGA output was probably 800x600. The projector will also have a recommended and maximum resolution. The newer laptop will have a much higher resolution. You will need to adjust the laptop's video resolution to the optimum projector resolution

Dell Latitude 6500- the power button lights up when plugged in and keyboard will light up but nothing else happens. The machine has a weak battery so I operate it without the battery plugged in.

First of all, you need the battery for a lot of the computer functions to operate. The wrong time and date can really cause problems for your computer. Replace the battery. Have your motherboard checked. Also, run setup when your computer starts to boot to make sure your system settings are correct.
