Sounds like hardware failure. Could be the anyone of the many components inside of the computer. It's definitely not a software issue. My suggestion would be to take it to a tech or buy a new computer.

Keep getting 0x0000007b (0xf78d2524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000,

So, where did you get the Windows XP drivers for the controller? Are you sure that they are XP compatible? Is the USB floppy even being recognized and read by the setup program? The Windows Setup program only supports a handful of USB drives for F6 driver installation method, that is explained here: A connected USB floppy disk drive does not work when you press F6 to install mass storage drivers during the Windows XP installation process Adding the standard Microsoft USB storage drivers to the txtsetup.oem file on the floppy diskette usually resolves this problem, see here: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-026606.htm Adding the USB floppy's vendor ID should also fix the problem, see here for an example: http://blog.mreza.info/archive/2007/09/19/windows-f6-driver-and-usb-floppy.aspx None of my business but why not use Windows 7 on the new laptop, instead of going through all this trouble installing an operating system that is 10 years old and that is living on borrowed time?

How to remove SMPS in Dell Optiplex 330?

Open the case, remove the cpu cooling fan, then remove the cpu itself.Under the cpu you will see many small pins. Cut off the one closest to the bottom left. This will permanently remove your SMPS so be sure before proceeding.

I bought a 3.5 External hard drive enclosure for a 1TB hard drive. The PC recognizes it but not under the removable drives

right click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". Then go to "disk management" once loaded you will see your drive. You probably have to initialize the drive and assign it a drive letter. all that can be done from right there.

Help to restore the computer to normal (Bios Password)

RTM - Read The ManualI found the info below in your manual online. You will need to reset the jumper on the motherboard to remove the password. Admin Password (Not Set default) Displays the current status of your system setup programs password security feature and allows you to verify and assign a new admin password. The Admin Password may be disabled by a jumper on the system board.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dell Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for Passwords.

Clearing Forgotten Passwords (the manual shows a picture of this)

1 Remove the computer cover.2 Locate the 2-pin password jumper (PSWD) on the system board. Bydefault, Pin1 and Pin2 should be connected. You will need to remove thejumper and boot the system, as follows.3 Remove the jumper.

4 Replace the computer cover. 5 Connect your computer and monitor to electrical outlets, and turn them on.6 After the Microsoft Windows desktop appears on your computer, shut down your computer. 7 Turn off the monitor and disconnect it from the electrical outlet.8 Disconnect the computer power cable from the electrical outlet, and press the power button to ground the system board.

9 Open the computer cover.10 Locate the 2-pin password jumper (PSWD) on the system board andattach the jumper to reenable the password feature.11 Replace the computer cover.NOTICE To connect a network cable, first plug the cable into the network wall jack and then plug it into the computer.12 Connect your computer and devices to electrical outlets, and turn them on.NOTE This procedure enables the password feature. When you enter system setup (see "Entering System Setup" on page 79), both system and administrator password options appear as Not Set meaning that the password feature is enabled but no password is assigned.13 Assign a new system and or administrator password. Replace the computer cover.

NOTICE To connect a network cable, first plug the cable into the network device and then plug it into the computer.14 Connect your computer and devices to electrical outlets, and turn them on.

We have around 30 units

May be serious. See if the power light goes amber after power up. I had (have - still siting in my basement) one that did same. Power up, fans sound like 747 taking off. Power light goes and stays amber. This is USUALLY caused by bad capacitors on the mother board. Known GX280 problem going back. If you look on the motherboard, the capacitors should have flat tops and not leaking. If the are rounded or leaking, the MB has probably gone bad.

I obviously can not be 100% sure about this as the unit is not here.

You can google "gx280 solid amber light loud fan" and see the issues. Here is one such link.

My pc does not play sound at all

First of all check the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom) right of your desktop. If there is a driver or installation problem there will be a red cross through it. (if not skip the next bit)If this is the case, right click the icon and select audio properties - choose the hardware menu and you should see a warning triangle against the device - select the device and click properties - go to the driver tab and rollback the driver. This will take the driver software to its previous version before its last update. If you can double click the icon, make sure its not muted and your volume levels are OK.If there is still a problem, check your connections (assuming its not an in-built speaker system) to ensure its connected to the line-in socket on your sound card. Hopefully, one of those should do the trick

Installed 4GB upgrade in optiplex 330 still only 2GB memmory

Your BIOS should automatically detect your new RAM when your computer starts, try starting your computer after removing your old RAM module, if it starts, you need to update your BIOS to use 4GB. If it doesn't start, you either have a faulty RAM module or a faulty connector on your motherboard. Insert the new RAM module into the slot the old RAM module was in, if your computer still refuses to start, you have a faulty RAM module which should be returned, if it does start, it's the connector on the motherboard, and only replacing the entire board will fix the problem. However, it's worth noting that your motherboard will only support RAM modules of 2GB or less, the above was written with the assumption you're adding an additional 2GB module to your Dell computer.
