After playing game for 10 mins or so.... screen just goes black .help

Bonnie Halsall, If the screen is going dark after 10 minutes of gaming then something is overheating. It is probably the video card. The latitude series computers were not designed for gaming. They are a business line of computers with basic intel video. Thank You, Dell-Jesse L Dell Social Media and Communities

How can i get my webcam on my pc

It is possible that you don't have one; webcam is an optional feature on that model. I suggest downloading some free webcam software and seeing if it lists a webcam as one of the possible sources; if it does, then it should be a simple matter to track down where it is viewing from.

How to make it run faster

If your computer has less than 1Gb RAM then install more RAM will help. If you have a virus program installed, it is most likely is running a scan on your hard disk. It can slow down your computer especially if you have a large hard drive. To make your computer (hard disk) lean and mean, uninstall any programs you do not use. Also you need to maintain your hard disk by running Disk Cleanup this will remove old temp files and old compressed files etc. This will reduce the number of files the virus scanner has to scan. Plus running Defrag. this makes your files contiguous so the system can access files off the hard drive quicker because it does not work as hard.. Disk Cleanup and Defrag should be carried out at least once a month. If you have 512Mb of RAM installed then installing more RAM will speed up your computer. After installing your graphics card, you may need to disable the built-in graphics card in the BIOS for the new graphics card to work properly.

I can't find my webcam?

For the Latitude E6400 the webcam was optional. Can you physically see it above the screen? You can see the camera hole centered above the screen in the picture here:

http://www.dell.com/us/dfb/p/latitude-e6400/pd

If you can see the webcam, or have used it before, try going to this website to see if the computer can still use it:

http://www.testwebcam.com/

It will ask you to allow flash to use your webcam / microphone, once you allow it, the camera should turn on and display a picture. If you don't have a camera it will say no camera is detected.

Thanks,
John Vickers

Dell E6400 Monitor Flickers and

The overheating is caused by:
  1. Clogged heat exchanger
  2. Slow or failing fan
  3. Poor contact with heatsink and processor
If under warranty, contact tech support for repairs (800)624-9896 USA
If not under warranty, try clearing the heatsink via canned compressed air, you should be able to access it easily after removing the bottom cover. If no help. try arctic silver heat transfer compound between the heatsink and the processor. If the fan fails diagnostics, replace the fan (easy to get on ebay)
For the flicker, try reseating the video cable to the motherboard
