Red power light on but no picture

make this test and fix it. God bless you
  1. Verify TV is plugged-in and getting power.
  2. Verify your home's power breaker has not tripped.
  3. Verify the batteries in the remote control are good.
  4. Verify you have selected the right input for Cable/Satellite, antenna, DVD, VCR or Game Console.
  5. Verify the cable/satellite box is plugged in and getting power
  6. Verify you are getting cable/satellite in other parts of the house
  7. Verify the VCR is plugged-in,getting power, and turned on.
  8. Verify that all wires are connected to proper place
  9. Scroll through input screen to verify you are watching the correct inputs
Look at the FAQ on the manufacture's website or user manualUse your remote control. The first step is to inspect the batteries of the remote control and see if they are functioning. If its power button starts to blink several times once you turned it on, then the batteries need to be replaced. See to it that your remote control is used within about 20 feet from the television. Make sure also that nothing blocks the space between the remote control and the receiver.
  • Reset component settings. Usually, the problems you encounter with a projection TV may be resolved through the resetting to its factory settings. If you experience inaccuracies in the color, reset the television's PerfectTint/PerfectColor capabilities. Simply press the Menu tab and then highlight "Perfect Color" using your right key arrow. After this, press "Enter" and then "Reset" in order to reset to factory settings. If you have audio / video problems (VCR or DVD player), simply press "Menu" and highlight the "Reset" option.
Reset television controls. In case you cannot fix your TV via its component settings, there are other ways of resetting. Just select "Menu", key in "1, 2, 3", and then press "Enter." In doing this, the TV's manufacturer's specifications will all be restored. If your TV's power system does not function, you should perform a complete system reset. You can do this by clicking on Reset System button located at the TV's control panel. Your television will be turned off and then a green light (LED) will quickly flash for approximately one minute. Once the light has stopped flashing, your TV should immediately turn on.

Hitachi 52fdx20b TV; power light will not turn off

if power light is on most of the set inside is on.Follow power cord inside set and on power supply board look for up to three rectangular black relays that are there-----they will be marked with relay voltage in white.Gently tap with something not metal on each until the power light goes off. What happens is one of the relays sticks in the closed position. If the power light goes off when you do this the relay is bad and if there are three the part number is printed on them----replace all three as they each have only 4 solder connections and are generally under 10 dollars each (wholesale about half that). If tapping stops it sooner or later it will do the same thing again.SD TECH

The picture keeps growing larger

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue is with the failed convergence (STK) ICs which needs to be replaced. It’s not a difficult job if you want to do this yourself, you should require some basic knowledge about soldering-resoldering components. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs (STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check the resistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. There are repair kits available which includes repair instructions with the parts, if you want to do it yourself, you can buy and repair it yourself. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My hitachi tv's picture is distorted red and green like a 3-d pic

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit from the link below.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on - TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing. If you have never done this before we would advise calling a shop or if you want to do it yourself get a complete kit with instructions and support from www.TvRepairKits.com

Hitachi RP CRT Gone Red On All Inputs!!!

I want you to do a simple visual check of something that will tell me what the problem may be.

Go to a channel that is in black and white--old movie and tell me what color the screen/picture is.

You can also turn the COLOR in the customer menu all the way off and look that way.

What we are trying to see here is if TRACKING is set correctly or has changed. If the screen is somewhat to medium reddish it may be an adjustment outside of the customer menu.

Let me know what you find--I have seen several of these where the black and white picture was somewhat red--the idea is it should be as close to black and white as possible--if red is the predominant background color the picture will look reddish.

If this has helped and you confirm the red instead of black and white picture--I can tell you a easy way to adjust this.

If this information told you something you did not know and helps you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Hitachi tv shuts off . When I turn on the TV iMessage says please wait then turns off two seconds later.

That sounds like it is not booting properly. I would check for correct power supply opperation and if not that, look for a software reloading procedure in the user instruction manual.

Change input on Hitachi LCD TV model LE65K6R9 without remote?

I'd unplug/disconnect the Roku and after 30 seconds try the control button on the back. If you can change the input do so, then plug the Roku back in. Until you use the input button on the back to change input to Roku, you should be able to use the other buttons on the back to control the TV. If this does not work, unplug both the TV and the Roku. Wait maybe a minute, then plug the TV back in and follow the above instructions. Here are other alternatives: Using physical buttons: You can find the physical buttons on the left or right back side of the Hitachi TV. Using these keys, you can change the input, adjust the volume, or turn on Hitachi TV without a remote. Press the Input button located at the back or side of the Hitachi TV. The list of connected sources will appear on the TV screen12. Using external devices: Connect a wireless keyboard or mouse to your Hitachi TV and change the input1. Buy a universal remote: You can buy a universal remote to control your Hitachi TV and change the source.
