Philips HD tv has no picture
common fault this , normally the fuse has failed on y-main board due to shorted thick film unit
unfortunately its not a cheep repair job.
Dark picture on screen
change your settings from natural to brillent on your tv , note the bulb wont last as long on brillent because of the extra power it takes to run it , try that and see if its what your looking for
Fuse went out
if the fuse in the power supply board was blown, check for shorted component parts like diode and transistor at the power supply board before replacing new fuse.
Split screen
either you have the PIP engaged (two different pictures) or if same picture twice a digital issue in the set.Look for PIP and turn it off or if a swap button see if it swaps the pictures--will tell you if PIP is issue or not.
Focus picture on rear projection tv
The model indicated is a DLP set that uses a Lamp for brightness and has no focus control of any sort.what is problem and if a DLP set or not.
No picture and i replaced the bulb

I've never heard of a color wheel costing that much even with labor included - I think I'd try to find another tech for his advice.. If you have trouble locating one try NESDA or let me know what city/state you're in and maybe I can help recommend someone.
That said, if the lamp is good the next logical thing to check is the ballast. If the ballast is not supplying voltage to the lamp then it clearly won't light. A ballast is not that expensive, similar to a ballast in a floresent light - only a bit more complex. In any event I would strongly suggest finding a real professional first we are out there...
