The problem could be that the computer will not read the large card, I know my two year old Acer will not read the 8 gig cards directly from a card reader. The solution may be to revert back to smaller cards.

If you have tried the batteries both ways, and the camera does not start, I would say that the camera has gone south and needs some professional help. Generally, the spring at one end of the loading area touches the negative end of the battery and the solid spot at the other end the positive. But, again, if you tried them both ways and get nothing then either the replacement batteries are dead or the camera. I'd try a new set of batteries just in case.

There doesn't seem to be one.You just screw the adapter onto the front of any lens with a 67mm filter thread and it will expand the field of view.

Perhaps you can ask this question in the operating system part of fixya? my guess there are more people with knowledge of Windows 8
