Deadbolt backset diagram

Installation requires either a 2 3/8" or 2 3/4" backset. the diagram you requested is within this installation & programming download, which includes how to adjust the lock for either backset:http://consumer.schlage.com/Project%20Documents/P515-858.pdfNote that this is a PDF file, so if it doesn't open for you, you need to install a PDF reader program on your computer such as Adobe Reader:http://get.adobe.com/reader/Good luck!

Where can I get a programming manual for this

This link will take you to the page that you need to get started:

http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx

Then scroll down to this heading on that page:
Electronic Security-Keypad Deadbolt BE365
There's a wealth of info under that heading. You will be able to see a PDF file of the original print instructions, as well as a video of how to install the lock. This is useful because there should be a sticker to be found on the backside of the keypad, with the code number that you need to reprogram the lock. This installation video (second item down) will be useful to allow you to disassemble it and view the sticker. This is also a great time to change the 9-volt battery!
The seventh item under that same header is a video which walks you through how to reprogram the keypad to your new code, using that programming code that you found on the backside of the keypad.

A note about the PDF files: If you cannot view a given file, you need to first install Adobe reader. You can get the free download from here:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Good luck!

Bought new front doors, had schlage be 365-cam

This is sort of easy to do, you need to unscrew the back cover here is the manual that walks you through the specific steps for whatever you want to do as far as programming. You need to scroll down past the installation instructions.

My lock started making a buzzing sound. We

Have you tried cycling the lock with the door open to see if you still have the buzzing?
If not, then you have probably developed a problem with the alignment between the lock mechanism and the striker plate, and the lock is struggling to move fully.

If you have the problem regardless, then it is time to contact Schlage Customer Service for further troubleshooting and possible parts replacement.

Here is the link for on-line contact:

Or you can call them directly:

This link will take you to the page you need, if you need the programming and installation instructions to have a look inside the lock:

Schlage Smart Lock - deadbolt unlocks then immediately locks after code is entered. Barely enough time to open door.

The battery pack may be weak. They are set to stay locked as opposed to stay unlocked in case of battery failure. Not being able to use the key is an issue in its own right. You would need a locksmith to solve that one. https://www.google.com/search?q=Schlage+Smartlock+change+battery ..

Schlage Electronic Lock. Unlock the door from the outside without the code or key?

Strange that an internal door has one of those! No, you will need a locksmith or some way to get in the room another way (window, cut a hole in drywall). Or you spring the door jambs apart and slip the lock. Sometimes you can remove the hinge pins. Or drill the key lock out with a Carbide Drill. It is a $95 lock. https://www.google.com/search?q=FE575 ..

I have a schlage be365 lock. Keypad works great but the key for manual overide wont go into slot. Checked and theres nothing foreign in the slot

Perhaps you were given the wrong key when you purchased the lock, it happens sometimes. If the lock is new take it back to where you got it from. Have it replace with another one, check that the key works before you leave. If not new a visit to a locksmith is the best bet. Regards Geoff

I have a Schlage FE595 Keypad Lever lock that needs the battery changed, but I cannot remove the cover after removing the screws.

There are two Philips head screws that hold the inside cover in place; a manual screwdriver is better than a power one. The screws are positioned close to the 12 and 6 o'clock (12-hour clock) positions around the lever handle. Thus the top screw is below the manual lock; there may be a cover partially hiding the fastener. The manual for the FE595 is available from Schlage here: https://www.schlage.com/content/dam/sch-us/documents/pdf/installation-manuals/23780042.pdf . Make sure to look at the picture for your lock since the manual covers at least three models of keypad locks. A better picture may be in the installation guide here: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/cf/cfae64fe-e7be-4146-bc26-4803ec302d5e.pdf . Try carefully running a utility knife or other thin blade between the inside cover and the rest of the lock housing on the door. You may have some dirt sealing the two sections of plastic together. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

I have a Schlage keyless entry pad on my front door. It was working fine, until it locked my roommate in the house. The thumb turn lock moves, but it will not engage the deadbolt. I have never heard of being locked in. Help.

Contact Schlage or a locksmith, assuming you don't have a key. Some models allow someone to replace a battery and reset it, but not known if yours is one. I need to know if a Schlage be365 deadbolt 5 pin cylinder can be replaced with a 6 pin cylinder

I don't know if the deadbolt is the same as the BE-series lever-handle lock that I worked on, so this answer is about the lever-handle one:I just had that same problem last week! The short answer is, "No, you can't replace the cylinder," but if you are willing to do some surgery on the lock and take it apart (take a picture just before you remove each piece!), you can put a tiny opening on the cam on the back of the cylinder so a 6-pin key can go all the way into the cylinder and then go through the back. The cam comes off in a unique way: depress the tiny brass dot in it and then turn it about 1/4 turn (maybe a little more or less, I don't remember exactly) and it will come off. You can then rekey the cylinder to your key and, as I said, make that little hole in the cam. To make the hole, I used a Dremel rotary tool with a 1/16" diameter bit. To figure out exactly where to make the hole, I put some lipstick on the end of my key and pushed it all the way into the keyway before I took the cam off. (You could achieve the same thing by sharpening a straight piece of piano wire or spring steel wire, pushing it through to the back of the keyway and wiggling it a lot to make scratch marks.) Keep your hole as small as possible so you don't weaken the cam. Assemble everything back together and you can now use your 6-pin key.I'm being a little flippant here. The mechanism inside that lock is pretty complicated. I'm a locksmith with over 40 years experience, and while it took me only a few minutes to make that hole and rekey the cylinder, it took me about an hour to figure out how all the pieces that connected to the motor fit back into the case so they would allow the outside handle to engage the lock when the motor activated, how the wires needed to be put back in around the edges and not bind against anything, and finally to get the cover back on. Good luck!

I installed a new schlage dbl cyl deadbolt it works until I lock unlock the exterior side of the door then the interior side key turns to the point where it has to push the bolt to lock and it stops.

Since it is a new install and hasn't functioned properly ever, you probably have the bolt on backwards. Recheck all the parts against the assembly instructions
