Combination tv/dvd player- dvd won't eject yet plays dvd

Always unplug any electrical device before tampering with it!!!!!!! You must remove the two screw in the back of the TV behind where the dvd goes in and out of. Using a flat headed screw driver pry at the seams very gently until it pops. Continue this around the edges until the piece becomes un-attached, (except for the cord, DO NOT UNPLUG THIS!! just let it hang loose. Then get a pair of large tweezers and hold them in front of the slot. (you may want to practice this a couple times by watching the disc and where it stops to see where to grab it with the tweezers), when your ready, hit the eject button and wait a second then stick the tweezers in the slot just far enough until you can grab the dvd with the tweezers. The face of the disc may have a sticker or remaining adhesive from a sticker that is messing with the functioning. You would need to scrape all of it off with a razor blade. (as long it is not the side the recording is on!!) Replace the housing by setting the clips closest to the screen side and the remaining after. screw the screws back in and see if it worked!! If this doesn't fix your problem, call Sharp and ask them if its financial wise to sent in in to them.

Trying to hook up laptop to tv

It can be done but without knowing what type of PC you have I won't be able to give u the best way to do it. If your PC has an S-video output, you can simply connect the cable between the two. You will also have to connect audio cables from the mic. output on your PC using a Y type RCA to mic jack that will allow you to plug into the audio inputs of the T.V. hope that helps ya. You can go Hi-Def if your PC supports such outputs.

The power flashes green & will not turn on

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom (look for discoloration of the circuit board around the base of the capacitor) need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the unit will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.

If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and/or inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are SURE it's only doing supply output ripple filtering,
and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.

I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

Backlight related video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XoF6QZ1dmw&feature=related

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors, amplifiers, computer power supplies and motherboards, and other electronic equipment.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal.
A great parts source is Digi-Key, and you can order the parts online at www.digikey.com
They typically cost under a dollar a piece plus a flat shipping rate.
The parts usually arrive one business day later.
If you watch the third video, you will see that even someone with no soldering experience can perform these repairs as demonstrated by the woman in the video.

Tv won't turn on green

First check the power supply for incorrect voltages, and bad capacitors in an around the output side of the power supply. You may have swollen caps inthe power supply area that needs replacing.

When I have my sharp LC-32SB23U tv set to Home,

Hello
First of all check the firmness of connection to the cable with TVs antenna scoket, or to the socket to which it is connected with. If the cable is connected through set top box, check and cable connection to set top box. If all are found ok, disconnect the set top box and connect the TV only to external antenna and retune it for on air transmissions. If the reception with this external antenna is clear, the troubel is with set top box; if used. Otherwise low signal strength though the cable. If fault is related to signal strength with cable, contact the cable provider to get it rectified.
If with on-air transmission is also grainy structure, tuner inside your TV is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

Keep always blinking the green

The green lights on a Sharp television indicate a problem. The number of blinks is a code. The television has gone into a coma in order to protect itself. You can force this television on by doing this. Unplug the television. Hold down the vol+ and channel down button on the television and while holding them down still plug the television in. This is a temporary way to view the television but the problem will get worse if not repaired. Should the television power on this way unplug it when you want to turn it off without pressing the power button at all.

I want to hook headphone

That jack is meant for connecting to Home Theater Systems or to computers not for headphones but it may still work. If you go to your menu and find Output Select change this option to variable. On the off chance it works you might want to be careful when testing... it may lead to sudden deafness if its too loud. By the way this will turn off the sound coming from your speakers.

Hope that helps!

Intermittent red line on screen left side

To determine whether this line is a fault of the TV's or a fault of the signal source you have to do a simple test when the line appears on your screen. Please press the Menu button on your TV remote, and see how the line interacts with the menu. If the line goes over the menu then your TV's panel is faulty and will have to be replaced. This is covered by most manufacturer's warranties. If the line goes under the menu then you have to talk to your signal provider (cable, satellite, etc) to figure out what they are transmitting.
