I think you can try to download the video graphics driver from lenovo website.

Does this happen with an external mouse too?
If no, then reinstall the touchpad drivers.
If yes, then chances are your laptop is suffering from a poor contact/cold solder on the FSB chip. If this is the case, the only solution is a new motherboard or a reflow of the FSB chip. If the FSB chip has a dry solder, joint then you should be experiencing some other problems too: slow DVD reading, keyboard freezes sometimes, problem with USB ports etc. Next time this happens, twist the laptop as you'd twist a book. This should add some tension between the motherboard and FSB and hopefully restore contact. Note that this is not a permanent solution, but a diagnostic step to see if it's really a FSB issue.
