Pentax K200D Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens Questions & Answers
Hi, Have K200D and in
Before you do anything just make sure that the battery you use is a hot one. Then also check to see if you can reset the camera software to factory defaults - you may have to contact mfg for this. If no positive results you may have to resort to repair provided it is cost effective - may not be.
How do I use my old manual lense with a K200D?
Move the automatic/manual focus switch (on the lower right of the lens mount as you look into the lens) to manual. Focus manually by turning the focus adjustment on the lens itself - align the split image as you would with your old camera and take the picture.
(Use a handheld light meter and set the f/stop and shutter speed appropriately - the K200D doesn't have a visible meter. I would recommend bracketing your exposures -up a stop and down a stop from the 'appropriate' stop.)
How can i find timer in my Pentax K200d camera?
Press the Fn button to bring up the Fn menu. Press up on the four-way controller to bring up the [Drive Mode] screen. Use left/right to select the one-handed clock. Press down, then use left/right to select the one-handed clock (the one WITHOUT the 2s caption). Press OK. Start the self-timer by fully pressing the shutter release button
It's all on page 117-118 of the manual you can download at

PENTAX K200D Manual
I have the same camera and to my knowledge, a 'live' view with the LCD screen is not a feature with this camera. All pictures are taken through the eyepiece and then reviewed on the LCD screen. BC
I have a Pentax K200D and I dropped it from less
Any kind of impact can damage any digital camera. The internal components can be damaged beyond repair, the lens system can also be damaged to the point the camera will not even turn on, except for an error of some sort. Cables can be shaken loose, or broken, contacts can be altered.
This is one of the main reasons I always tell people to use the wrist or neck strap, that is what it is for, to save your camera. Use a padded case or bag to help to keep the camera safe. Better safe than sorry.
Okay, let us see what we can do. Go to the menus and set all that you can to factory settings. Or use the reset, if there is one to set all to factory settings.
If you cannot get the camera to work right, then the camera needs repair.
Pentax may have a trade-in or trade-up program like Nikon and Canon has. Go to their website contact the repair department for further information. Because it had had damage due to your use, it may not have any warranty, if still available.
Another option would be to sell the camera on a site such as Ebay as repair, or fixit camera. I have no idea what it is worth when sold like that, it can vary according to the one who is willing to buy it for parts.
Why does it take so long to show to the photo after I press the shutter button?
The picture displays after the file has finished saving - if the speed of your SD card is slow, it can take quite a while before the picture is displayed. It also takes a while (up to a minute or more) if the shutter speed is low and the picture is mostly black (taking nighttime moon shots for instance).
Try using a better quality (higher speed) SD card.
Why isn't my K100D Flash not working?
Hi,
please ensure that you've not used the camera for more than the advised amount of time by the manufacturer. Also, you can attempt to use the same brand/type of batteries as was including with your camera when you got it. Some manufacturers put internal fimware/software restrictions on their devices. For printers, this would be done for cartridges and in the case of your camera, it would be for batteries.
Lastly, I would check that your sd card isn't full before calling Pentax to refer you to a repair shop.
Thank you.
Pentax Espio 60S "E2" error
Hi for anyone reading this! My 60s was just flashing with this but I fixed it. Took the batteries out, swapped them and that didn't work. Tried to put the old ones back in a few minutes later and then it was fine! Just fiddle around with it. Hope this helps.
