SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Maybe the lens movement is sticking and causing additional overload for the camera circuits, thus causing it to shut down.

You might need new batteries, or the LCD panel might need to be replaced. The panels are available for 20-30USD

Check all the settings under menu / setup. Try a firmware update from Kodak support page, if no change camera will need service.

It is not necessary something wrong with the camera itself. Sometimes the simptom is caused by the memory card. Reading from it works (so you can see older pictures) but every new picture is written wrong, so the camera shows only black.

Hope it is only the memory card in your case.

Hi hanif304,

Please check if you have the default memory selected as your memory card memory and not your phone memory.

So if your phone memory is selected as default for storage and it's full then you won't be able to store more images before you have free space.

If you have your memory card full and then selected as default memory then the same thing would happen.

A good idea would be to copy the contents of the memory card and/or the phone memory and then format them, this should solve your problem all together.

Actually there is a sensor responsible to tell the camera that the lens is out and ready to be used. And if the said sensor does not trip then the camera thinks that there is a prob. Try the following

1. Turn on the camera
2. Notice the movement of the lens as to which direction is it Turing while it is getting ready
3. try to pull the leans assy. a little outwords. But be gentle. Once the sensor has detected by the camera it will remain ON
