Olympus Stylus / mju 1050 SW Digital Camera - Page 3 Questions & Answers
I accidently dropped my 1050 sw olympus digital
Hi
This has happened due to failure of lcd controller or due to a flex cable misalignment. When your camera was dropped, the cable connecting the lcd with the main board might came off and needs to be reconnected back. However, if you want to be sure its the flex cable and not any lense issue, you'll need to connect your camera with the computer and check whether all pictures you clicked after the camera gone bad are fine?
Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
Olympus 1050 SW completely unresponsive to any button
the lens may be stuck ... that is not coming out or not returning in either condition causes it to do something like that ,i.e blingink red light or an error code etc .... solution is that you'll need to open up the camera with a set of precission screw drivers and manually turn in or out the lens to start it back in operation either ways its a bit technical if you never did it before ....could be caused by moisture getting into the camera .....
Screen srew up! bad image and videos
Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $101.85 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.
Adjust shutter speed
On most indoor shots the shutter speed will normally be 1/30 if you need or want it to be faster than that the only way to do that with this camera is to set the ISO to a higher value. Page 29 of your user manual explains how to set the ISO value for the camera to allow for faster shutter speeds.
After trying to upload photos from my Olympus 1050
Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.
Olympus 1050 - lcd screen blank, gasket was loose.
It is possible that since water did get into somehow that it did some internal damage to the camera. I recommend that you call Olympus Customer Service and discuss the repair process with them. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3
Xd card type
A Fuji card can be used in the camera; the only function that will be disabled is if you wish to take panorama shots with the camera. Panorama in the Olympus cameras is proprietary therefore in order to shoot panorama shots Olympus requires that you specifically use their xD picture card. Otherwise the Fuji card will work just fine.
Why camera says one moment and does not seem to want to recognize computer
Most brands of cameras deliver a CD with the camera, containing software, needed to backup, transfer and work with the pictures you shot, to a computer.
Most of the time there is software is for both, Windows and MAC.
Before you connect the camera to any computer, you should install the software. The disk also has the drivers for the old operating systems.
If you lost the CD, or just don't know where it is right now, you can go to the site of your camera brand and try to download the software you need. For that look under support.
If your camera is old, and the brand does not exist anymore, try a freeware picture transfer / editing software pack. Like Gimp or Adobe Photoshop elements.
Just connecting a camera to a computer causes two things. The camera shuts down, and the computer won't recognise the camera. So nothing works.
If you can't get software form your brand, you always can install other generic software like Ulead, Pixir, BeFunkey, Gimp, Photoshop express. Or if that is not possible you could install an external memory card reader and download the pictures via de memory card reader.
Pictures will not download into pc
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa (
http://picasa.google.com ).
