First clean out your cabinets under the sink. Second turn turn the cold water valve off, hot water valve as well.
You should be able to locate the sprayer hose as it will have a weight on it, this helps to pull the sprayer back when you are finished with it. Remove the weight by lifting up on the tab should be on the center of the weight.
Then you should see the hose connection. There you should see a button.Push it in and give it a little tug. The hose should be disconnected. Just follow in reverse order to reinstall.
I hope this is information is helpful. Have a blessed day.

Turn supply valves off, turn on tub valves to release pressure, then remove the handle on faulty valve. Check to see if it has a plastic cartridge. If so, it sounds like the rib was broken on the valve and it is out of alignment with ports in valve body. Take the cartridge out and take to your favorite home supply for a replacement. The cartridges have a key rib that fits into a slot so turning the handle turns the stem and not the whole cartridge. You might also find a black washer and spring under cartridge, it's a good idea to replace washer whenever cartridge is replaced also found at home supply

I have the same problem and I think I know my mistake. During one of my repairs I lost the washer that fits over the top of the 1225 cartridge stem. It's the same washer as shown at 4:18 of this video of a slightly different Moen faucet: https://youtu.be/ng484pwhBRI

I have ordered what is think is the replacement, I'll see how it works.

The hose or the counter weight is probably hooked on something under the sink.

I know this probably sounds silly, but are you sure you installed the batteries correctly? Try another set of batteries.

Take a set and go from larger to smaller until one fits.

If by double you mean separated levers, there will be a nut and gasket/washer that needs to be tightened from under sink. Can be tricky as getting to underside of that area of sink is usually a tight area, and the nuts are good size. Most hardware stores will have a faucet nut wrench which has a swivel head for on and off and is designed to reach that area vertically. You might be lucky and have plastic nuts with wings that will allow you to tighten by hand. Word of advise, that area and related hardware can play havoc on the knuckles.
