depending on what type of model. there is a moisture sensor inside the dryer. when you use any cycle other than time dry. if it is a small load ( 2 -3 shirts) it may not touch that cycle. making the machine think that things inside are dry and cut the time short. you can try time dryer and see if that helps. to check if moisture sensor on you dryer is working some models will have a test mode to make sure its sensing. try pressing more time button, then less time button back and fourth. all lights should come on. then you can open door. and when put your hand across the moisture sensor usually near the lint trap. you should hear a beep. to indicate that its reading moisture, meaning good..

I'm pretty sure that the cooling light is always on and blinks when it is cooling. I look at my brother's and he has the EQ bar and it acts the same.

the blinking filter light is just a reminder, not connected to anything. goes out when you start cycle. however, if the dryer overheated then it may have blown the thermistor fuse. check out appliancepartspros.com or repairclinic.com for how to videos and parts.

it is supposed to blink at the start of each load, then stop as the load starts to wash. it is just a reminder.

Sounds like a airflow problem. Either the House vent is clogged or some major build up in the blower or lint housing.

Remove the vent hose from the dryer and see how well it is blowing, then reconnect the vent and check outside, it should be close to the same.

House vent should be short and strait as possible, and metal venting only.

Buy a set of orifices and regulator spring for the gas valve in that dryer. The manufacturer should sell them as a conversion kit. It's a pretty simple conversion.

Great detailed directions on disassembling the LG Dryers on You-Tube. Much more helpful and accurate than a narrative from me.
Also, you can run the dryer with it partially disassembled to observe what is happening and to troubleshoot the problem.

If it is electric it is probably the heating element. If it is gas it is most likely the gas selenoids.

It is possible the over temp snap switch could be bad, but also they were in the right direction with an air flow problem too. The duct needs not to be restricted, and you must verify the blower fan is in good condition, turning, and also free of debris.
