How to change and delete

Without knowing the model #, I'll suggest this page for starters:

http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx#13

I understand that there if you disassemble the lock, there should be a sticker affixed on the inside with the lock code.

Need to know how to

It depends a bit on the lock and how it was installed.

For the Home locks with a panel on the interior of the door, remove two screws and take off the inside cover. These screws can be at the top and bottom or through the plate of the interior door handle. Then remove the 9V battery and install a new one. Put the cover back on and replace the handle, if needed, and the screws. (Do not use a cordless screwdiver - you could overtighten and strip the threads.)

Other installations have the battery inside the panel with the keypad on the exterior of the door. To access the battery compartment, you need to remove the interior door handle or lock. Then pull the keypad section out of the door. The 9V battery will be behind a coverplate on the back of the unit. This cover needs to be pivoted downwards to open the compartment.

The Schlage commercial offline locks (no computer monitoring) use AA alkaline batteries (4 or 8) in a block. The eight battery version has 4 batteries on each side of the block. These are all on the inside of the door. Remove one screw to get the cover off. Then remove two screws to get the battery holder off (this keeps the batteries from coming loose in the block). Replace all of the batteries and resecure both the battery holder and the cover panel.

For the consumer Schlage Locks manuals, see http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx . For information on the Schlage commercial locks. see http://commercial.schlage.com/electronicsecurity.asp . The manuals are available in the Technical Library for each lock type.

I hope this helps.

Need to remove the inside door knob from an entry set

These locks have a factory lubricate and should not need any extra during lifetime. If lock is malfunctioning may need to do other adjustments ei.. loosen throw bolt screws a bit. It is ok to spray lube into key slot for key.

Thank you.

I just bought your defiant electronic deadbolt. It works backwards ... Lock is unlock and unlock is lock ... I've been working this for 7 hours!

I would recommend taking the deadbolt back to wherever you purchased it from and exchanging it for a new one. It sounds like you got a defective unit.

Just so there’s no confusion, this website is a general question-and-answer site for anyone who needs help fixing something. It’s not the customer service website for the manufacturer or retailer you got your deadbolt from. I do not represent the manufacturer or the retailer. I’m just a random guy on the internet trying to help out. :)

I have a Kaba e plex 2000. it will take a code and flash green but when you turn the handle the bolt does not retract.

img_20240204_162938-amvrdz0ilpspcrujrnrey3ag-d-0.jpg A friend had a similar issue with his lock. After taking the back plate off I found that silver arm that locks into the door handle cam had lost a tiny c clip and come apart. One I reassembled both parts of the arm on the retaining peg using the c clip and put the white spacer ring on top everything looked right. Reassembling the gear section while keeping the round handle return spring from popping off was challenging.

Combination lock won't close

While leaving the lock open, proceed through the combination. When you're done, stick a screwdriver or something similar in the hole and pry the locking mechanism back. Once it is out of the way you should be able to lock it again.

I have an open USCan safe, Model UC 913-B. Unfortunately, I have no instructions to use it. I see there is a reset button on the inside, but have no idea how to reset it.

There is a FB1913-E model here https://www.uscansafes.com/ca1/uscansafes_eng/fireandburglarysafes.php No Manual online, so click their Contact link and ask. https://www.google.com/search?q=uscan+safe+model+uc+1913-b+manual+pdf Normally you press the reset button and put the new combination in and it beeps. Always double check the combination works with the door open. Make sure to use a number you can't possibly forget. The Lock on this one looks the same? This one may be your safe?

Gordon digital electron safe #45891. Lost key.

You can open them faster with a rare earth puck magnet that you can putting the combination digits in. .. There are also this type of attack but the Lock Picking Lawyer shows the workings. The magnet pulls the solenoid in the same way. It is a low skill attack. ..
