Intex Krystal Clear Model 635 Pool Filter Pump 1500 Gph - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Is the saltwater system better then regular filter system
consider this
if the pool construction is concrete with steel re-enforcement, the salt will corrode the steel and after a while ,cracks will appear in the cement ( cement is not water proof and will over time allow the salt into contact with the steel which rusts , expands and cracks the cement
next salt pool operations have a chlorinator inbuilt into the system that produces chlorine that is used to disinfect the water and those units are subject to expensive repairs
you will need a filter ( sand or paper) to remove objects from the pool during the cleaning processes
now add the cost of salt , possible repair costs to the unit and compare to just sand or filters and you have a decision to be made
Really the best advice is to go to several different pool shops and ask questions about what I have suggested--- rust , corrosion, salt cost on going, parts and repairs and power costs- sand or filter costs.get a balanced information base then make a decision that is comfortable for you
Hi I have the Krystal
Same here. The impellor shaft or blades are broken. The shaft is magnetic so that when it breaks, it will cause a short thus tripping your GFI. Sadly, as I have found out, Intex will not sell these parts. They want you to buy a whole new pump. RRRIIIIIGGGGHHHTT! Sorry I didnt have an easy fix for you. CB
Filter working but making noise
This is an inexpensive product put out by China Manufacturing. So sorry to say, but you probably knew this as well, it is not of high quality and was not made to last. It actually is considered a Toy.
It sounds like you need to either live with the noise or replace the pump. I would recommend that if you can find it in the budget, upgrade to a real Pool Pump. Ask your local service provider or retail pool supply store about such an upgrade. But your pump is failing.
Good Luck.
