Makita 10" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Light LS1013F - Page 8 Questions & Answers
My makita 4.5"angle grinder produces alot of sparks at the brushes.what could be wrong?
lots of sparks means your brushes are used up, broken or stuck. Replace them. If that is not the problem, it could be you over heated the motor, very difficult to do, and the motor is about to die. Check brushes first. You can tell by examining your graphite brushes. Use a straight screw driver and unscrew the black cap that holds the brushes in place.

Why is my saw locked up? It wont turn.
Maybe you accidently pushed the safety lock on it. Most power tools do come with a safety lock. Check your owner's manual and see where to unlock it.

Makita LS1030 (not LS1030N) won't turn.
The nut is not on the bottom, but under the snapout kerf plates. You remove the plastic kerf plates to access the bolt. Once you remove the nut the turntable will lift straight up and off. Check the stainless steel wear plate at the rear for burrs or wear.
Do not use oil or wd40 etc - it will collect sawdust and cause problems down the road. I recommend a pure silicone spray that will dry completely and provide lubrication.

What is the spring for in the 2000w makita circular saw
Other than carbon brush springs, the only other spring that I know of on a circular saw is for the blade guard so that it will automatically return to cover the blade after you make the cut. There should be a hook or a bend in each end of the spring and each end has a certain spot where it hooks so that it pulls the blade guard back in place.
