charger for same does not show any lights..so should i assume the charger is not working?

Open your circuit breaker box. Locate the breaker that has tripped. Turn the breaker OFF (it is in a mid position). Then turn it back ON. Before you do that you need to ask yourself, why did the circuit breaker trip? They trip because of an overload of current. Is something else running on that same circuit, say for example an electric heater or something similar? Depending on the rating of that circuit breaker (15 or 20 amps) you may be drawing too much current. Look for anything else that could be running on the same circuit (only so many outlets can be put on the same circuit). Disconnect or turn off all other devices. Attempt to operate your mower again. If the breaker trips again, then there is something wrong with your mower (electrical short?).

Pull the plug. MAKE SURE THE PLUG IS COMPLETLY REMOVED AND SEPARATED FROM THE MOWER!! Remove the cover with the pull start attached. see if you can turn it by the flywheel or the blade. If you can, you can just have the rewind repaired. If not, then you have a probable bent or twisted crankshaft. Most likely not worth repair.

If you still have it, one of the possible fixes for this is cleaning the contacts in the switch box. Make sure the battery is unplugged. Remove the top handle by unscrewing the big yellow knobs on the sides of the handle. Remove the cable from the top cable clip. Turn the switch box over and unscrew the 5 screws. Taking the box apart you will be able to see where the cable comes in and splits into 4 leads, two white and two black. Pull the switch out and unplug the 4 lead clips from the switch prongs. (Take note that with the 4 prongs up and the switch pointing to the left, the 2 white leads will be on the left and the two black leads on the right.) Now turn the switch over to where you see the two screws. After removing the screws you can pop the switch apart. You will likely see rust on the springs, and a patina on some of the copper contacts and prongs. Spray the inside with some WD-40 to treat the rusted area wiping with a paper towel afterward and drying. Then use a piece of sand paper to clean your contact points and the prongs on the back. After the points are cleaned, put the switch back together and replace the two screws. Reconnect the wires to the switch. You can now test to verify if you have succeeded by depressing the switch while the battery is connected. If this works, then disconnect the battery and put the switch box back together on the handle. Reconnect your top handle and your are done. Good luck! I just repaired mine today when I realized this is why it had not been working.

sound like you got some burn wiring ether in the handle or down in the lawn mower probably have to take to shop

Most electric motor problems are caused by the bearings failing. Before that happens it may get very stiff but stil turn. With the power off, and the blade still attached, try turning the blade at least half a turn. Is that possible? Any noises as you turn? Is it very stiff or fairly free? If you turn it several times you may find that putting it upright and connecting the power it may start turning again. Let me know what you find.

Firstly how have you ascertained the power is getting to the switch? It is common on these mowers for the supply cable to brake inside the insulation just where it goes either into the plug which is then inserted into the switch assembly or if wired directly where the wire enters into the switch assembly . Insuring that the lead is plugged in to an RCB safety circuit breaker - hold the lead approximately a yard/meter from the switch ( check for any damage in the insulation before starting this test and before switching the power on) operate the switch on the mower and hold in the run position now move the flexi maintaining the yard/metre distance up the cable from the switchmove the flexi in all directions ifyou have any reaction from the motor on the mower this will almost certainly confirm the problem is indeed the flexi. All other testing should only be done by a suitably qualified electrician/service engineer

check the battery connections for corrosion and make sure they are tight. You may want to clean the connections and reinstall them. If this doesnt help, check for a short to ground somewhere along the connection wires.

The lawnmowers electric motor has a bad spot on the armature. You need to replace the electrical brushes that contact the motor. If you are lucky you may just need to clean them and reinsert them in to brush holders.

What sort of scarifier is it?

Your rechargable battery may no longer accept a full charge if it is old.. Get it tested at a garage. Possibly the battery is OK, but the lawnmower blades are too stiff to turn and the battery soon gives up. Check blades can rotate freely, and have not got entwined grass or string etc wound around the shaft
