if blower comes on it is calling for heat. i would look at ignitor.it could also be vacuum switch(tube goes to it from blower)however they rarely fail.let me know

Hello, have a Hayward cspaxi 11kw for 2 years and now when I try to turn on it exploded and the breaker trip. I tried twice and it did the same. Any thoughts what could be wrong?

I have a Hayward heater H400. When it turns on it runs for 30 to 40 seconds starts making a banging noise temperature starts moving up and heater turns itself off. Error codes 5F and H5 appear or it could be SF. Thx, Tom

Our Hayward gas heater keeps giving us a H5 error

Could the Error code be HS? That is high temperature limit. Perhaps you' don't have enough flow, allowing the heater to heat the water to a temperature higher, than the thermostat setting. Make sure your bypass valve is closed, allowing full flow through the heater. Check your filter pressure differential , and skimmer baskets.
You didn't give your model number, and there are many models. You can go the Hayward website below and select your exact model number and download the manual. The manual will explain each error code.

Hi i have an old hayward h250 pool heater. The problem is that it starts but after 3 seconds it turns off. It’s as if it doesn’t detect who is on and it goes out for safety and after 3 attempts it displays the code 1F. But it starts, what is wrong?

My Hayward vac gets stuck and stays in the same place until I physically move it, which means I have to watch it the whole time it's running.

Are you sure it has a centrifugal switch?
Capacitor start/ capacitor run have been the standard for a good number of years.

I have Sumheat S3 Hayward pool heater I also do not have 24 V output between the blue and yellow cables coming from the transformer. Do I need to replace the transformer? Thanks Cecilia

The 24v is called the secondary and sometimes called the out-put. Make sure you have 240v on the primary, sometimes referred to as the in-put. If you have primary voltage then you should have secondary voltage, if not then replace transformer. Make sure the secondary, 24v control fuse is the correct size and present. If the secondary is shorting together or to ground somewhere, it will cause damage to the transformer.

I have a Hayward H400 pool heater. I don’t heat my pool so I never use it but I do turn it on once or twice a year for about five minutes to make sure it’s working, which right now it fires up just fine. The problem I am having is once the pump turns off, the blower on the heater turns on & stays on. I can’t get it to turn off unless I cut the power. This is obviously a problem because I can’t have the pump on a timer because as soon as the pump turns off, the blower on the heater will run for 16 hours until the pump kicks back on. I’ve done a lot of research & can’t find a solution or anyone who has experienced this problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

Call a qualified electrician. More information would be needed to accurately trouble shoot your issue. Do you have automation connected to your heater? Is the heater trying to fire when the pump is off or is it ONLY the fan?
Try disconnecting your Water Pressure switch on the heater and see if the issue stops. With WP switch disconnected the heater should not work and the fan should stay off. Replace WP switch and see what happens.
Call a QUALIFIED electrician.

Check for proper supply voltage and that the impeller moves freely. If these are good then likely a bad capacitor.

Is it possible to program a Hayward prologic pool controller to run an action every second day? I have aux 6 on a countdown timer and want it to run every second day.

the prologic control unit will not offer programming for what you seek. the most detailed timers will offer weekday or weekend for each pump speed. you may want to get a remote system so you can control functions from your smartphone

Hi. I have a Hayward H350FDN pool heater that is Doing this: • Turn on and Temp at 65 • On for 3 1/2 min then shuts down • Restarts and then on for 5 min, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 2 min, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 8 min, shuts down • Temp 66 • Restarts and then on for 10 min, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 2 1/2 min, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 1 min, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 1 min, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 10 sec, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 40 sec, shuts down • 1F error code I just replaced the heat exchanger prior to this happening. Any ideas????

it almost sounds like the temperature sensor is in the wrong place. that or the flow is inadequate for the heater to run. if you have a sand filter, put it on 'whirlpool' or 'recirculate' and try to run the heater.
