Clamp nut is stripped. will
The fastest solution would be just to run to the hardware store and buy a nut that fits the bolt. It is a common size thread. If you want to continue to use the knob you have two options. You can of course buy a new knob. Finding one in stock at a pool supply is kinda hit and miss, you might need to call around, but you should be able to find one if you call or visit a couple stores. A pool pump repair shop should definitely have one in stock; if not new, than at least a used one. Another option is you use a heli-coil insert to repair the knob. I have done this many times and it works great. You can get a heli-coil kit at most auto part stores, and some hardware stores. The kit comes with a tap to re-thread the stripped threads to a larger size, then use the enclosed tool to screw in an insert, and your done. It may be cheaper to buy the knob, but it is an option, and once you have the tool you can use it for other things as the insert alone are fairly cheap, and it is a common size thread your dealing with. Hope this helps. If you need further assistance post a reply in the comments, and don't hesitate to leave a good thumb rating if you found this helpful. Thanks, and good Luck!
