Why is my water sensor open
Do you mean your heater is saying water sensor open? Or your control?
Whichever one it is , simply replace the sensor, if it's the system giving you this msg the. Find a probe with a bandclamp on your plumbing and replace it .
If it's the heater giving the code then depending on what type heater you have, the temp sensor is located around the header area

check for cut or exposed wires to controller or see if 4 pin pug is connected and tight
Water temp short
water temp sensor on system is connected to the pipe coming from the pump outlet goes to numbers 5 and 6 on long plug on Bezel board if temp sensor is bad on heater it goes into the header where plumbing connects to heater
Aqualink rs6 loses date and time
if it loses time and date when turning off power needs new battery in aqualink 9 volt old style round nickel cadium on back of PCB board on new models
