Yes, you can out a newborn in a car seat without a base. The base does not affect the safety of the car seat. It is only a matter of convenience for you in getting the car seat in and out of the car. So it is not a problem.

If you have two plastic harness adjusters located on the back of your seat please follow the following steps: On the very bottom of your car seat locate two metal anchors one on each side of the seat, pull the metal anchors out of position and turn them sideways and feed them through to the front of the seat. Release the buckle tongues and chest clip and pull the harness straps to the back of the seat while pushing the chest clips, buckle tongues and harness anchors through to the back of the car seat. NOTE: You may find it easier by pulling down the seat pad when feeding the straps through. All pieces will fit through the harness slots. Choose the appropriate slots for the new harness position. Push the harness anchors, harness straps, buckle tongues and chest clips back through to the front of the seat. Once the straps are completely pulled back through to the front of the seat, make sure the straps are not twisted by clipping the chest clip together and buckling the buckle tongues, then feed the metal anchors through to the bottom of the seat and clip anchors back into place. ********************************************************************* If you have an adjustment strap that is located in between the child?s foot area that allows you to loosen and tighten the straps please follow the following steps: Loosen the harness straps by pressing the harness release button that is located between the child?s legs near the feet area; while pulling on the harness straps from the front of the car seat near the shoulder area. use a tiny flat-head screw driver to pull outwards on the tab (this is a blue plastic tab on mine) that holds the white plastic u-shaped (canopy part) in. I didnt think it would be this difficult but it is... the graco ones are much easier to take off to wash.

you need to turn the car seat over and on the very bottom there are two gold rectangle-shaped clips holding the straps. You can pop these out and feed them through the hole....not like other car seats where the straps unattach up at the shoulder end.

There's no way to fix it and Evenflo will not refund it if you're outside of warranty. We had the same problem. I think they need to be held accountable for a faulty product and stand behind it.

Evenflo has a GREAT website section on using and installing their carseats. The manufacturer is the final authority on keeping your child safe in their seat: don't accept advice from anyone else!

no it cant prove to arrange with a piece of wood

put it in the bath and wash it with a brush by hand

You're trying to unattach the straps from the wrong end....flip the car seat over and on the very bottom there is a little gold clip that pops out and you can push through the hole.

The straps are usaully threaded through the back and a large buckle holds them in place, if this is the type you have you just thread the buckle through to the front and then lift starps and thread through to the higher hole. failing this take it back to where you bought it and ask, or if you bought it off the internet take it into your nearest baby item seller and they will be able to show you.

Sometimes the canopy is attached with the carrying handle. Take the screws out of carry handle and remove canopy.

You can download the manual from evenflo web site with your model number. You will be able to remove the 2 small metal clips at the bottom of the seat by twisting it gently. Then you insert it through the slot.

Let me know the part number and date of manufacture.
