Poulan 2550 18

There is no problem as long as the bar is the right bar and the new chain you use is the right pitch for the sprocket that is on your saw.

tilt engine and remove all bolts that hold gearbox to leg , put box in vice and remove impellor house and remove impellor , check all holes and seals below housing for damage etc , if impellor has broken up then check water down pipe is clear , you can run engine with box off and put hose to down pipe and turn water on and run engine for 20min and see if engine cools b4 you fit box so you know no blockages etc ! as you fit impellor rotate clockwise as you push down on housing , bolt up and fit box and as you do turn flywheel to engauge driveshaft ! 340

I would find a lawn and garden shop that repairs chainsaws. Take your saw there and they should be able to get you the correct file.

No problem at all. Just need to make sure the two studs attaching the bar to the motor head fit correctly. Of course, the former chain is now too long. Either have a saw shop make you a 'loop' to fit, usually $1/inch of bar=$16 for your new setup, or try a prepackaged chain labelled for the 16 inch bar. I recommend the former, because then you get an expert to look over your new setup for you. Shop chains are usually better quality, always fit correctly, and cost no more, often less, than department store chains

My chain came off and i can't get the bar back to

Hello mingster. Just inside of bar is a screw for adjusting the tension of the chain. The screw hole maybe full of dust & oil. Rotate the screw while holding the chain next to the tip of the bar to determine clockwise or counterclockwise. When adjusting the chain tension don't over tighten.

Husqvarna 141 oil leak even when stored.

This is pretty common to this model, the only way to improve it is to make sure you have the latest one peice oil pick up pipe ref no 545037101, if it is no better seal the pipe into the tank with instant gasket.

My sears 16" chainsaw cuts to the right allthe time and has been used very little since knew is this a common problem with sears brand- CHEAP-steal in bar?

Make sure the teeth on the chain are all sharpened to the same length and the depth guages are all filed to the correct level. Check the bar is not bent and check chain tension. All these things can cause a saw you bow when cutting.

How do you adjust the oiler on a husqvarna 268 xp

use the control screw on the oil pump

it is located on the top left side of the oil pump casing to the left of the sprocket with the chain and bar off

turn it anti clockwise the check oil output
( no chain and bar on ) if still not right try the other direction
and retry if still not putting out enough oil

may need to clean tank and pickup filter
check pump driver and drum , check oil oulet line
check oil pump itself - it could be worn or air is getting in on the oil inlet side and it not drawing oil

to get these pumps out remove clutch and drum , remove pump drinver
undo 4 x screws and remove pump assy plate

here is web site for parts
http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=husqvarna&mn=268+%281997-01%29

go to oil pump clutch you will see parts relationship

cheers hope it helps
