What type of oil do i add to the gas for a ry30240
Any type of 2-cycle engine oil will work fine. Just make sure it is 2-CYCLE engine oil, and not motor oil! Also, mix it at a ratio of about 1 part oil, to 40 parts Gas. Hint: The Ryobi equipment seems to like the 87 octane better than the low grade fuel, especially in high temps! Good luck!
How do i restring my
Go to home depot where you bought it... oh wait.. they will run from you. Buy a Stihl(not sold @ teh depot) you WILL get help/service

It is the small diaphragms in the carburetor. They get old and dried out, losing their flexibilty and then they can't perform their intended function. Get a gasket and diaphragm kit for it, can't go wrong. One other thing is that the carb possibly needs adjusting. There a 2 very small Low and High speed mixture screws underneath the larger Philips head screw on the carburetor's die. The large Philips head only adjust the IDLE SPEED, by keeping the throttle plate open at whatever amount. The L and H mixture screws, however, control the way the carb functions and meter the amount of gas to the engine. If you can, turn the L screw counterclockwise 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn, this will allow more fuel to flow in the LOW speed circuit and possibly enable the engine to accelerate. If this does not work, get the G & D kit and install it in the carb. Post here first for installation instructions and it is easy to put the parts in wrong. That won't hurt anything, it just won't run if you do!

May also be the clutch, in the drive section up by the motor. You will have to take it apart to inspect it

CHECK THE SCREEN ON OUTPUT OF THE MUFFLER. ITS CALLED A SPARK ARRESTOR, THESE GET OIL FOULED AND MAKE EM A BEAR TO RUN . CLEAN IT UP AND SHE WILL RON LIKE A CHAMP, THE CARB MIGHT NEED REBUILDING AND A SPARK PLUG IS THE FIRST THING TO REPLACE .. IF'N I WAS ANY HELP VOTE FOR ME ...THANKS.. JAY
Have the RLT30HT strimmer. Hard
Something is causing a lean mixture (less fuel) at the carb. Usually a furl flow problem - do the easy things first - check fuel tank foe any leaks (cracks in plastic) fuel lines for being dark yellow or brown colored - they will begin splitting apart at this point. Then go after the fuel primer bulb - if darkened then replace it - about $4 at hardware stores. Then take a look at the muffler - there will be a spark arresting screen at its outlet - remove the exhaust snout and lose the screen - doesn't run with that screen plugged up!! Now start it back up and you might just be surprised!
If it still does not run well unless you partially choke it, turn the fuel mixture screw a quarter turn outward to admit more fuel into the carburetor. Do this until the RPM increases - careful not to go too rich - can foul out the plug! Find the sweet spot. Hope this helps you.
I bought a Ryobi CS26
Hi, now if i bought something that cost that much and only ran for 3 min, i'd have it back to where i bought it in a hurry. I am assuming that you did have the proper mix of gas and oil, or oil if its 4 stroke.
if its a oil, gas mix and you did'nt put oil in,,,the motor is shot, otherwise, take it back. Not meaning to sound rude here, but thats really all one can say
