Your thottle lever and speed pot need resetting

Pride Legend XL... | Answered on Jul 29, 2014

If it is actually speed pot related, then removing the speed pot
and spraying down the shaft of the speed pot (from the top)
with electronic contact cleaner, may help to make clean
the pot resistive element and that should fix that. If it's
not a speed pot issue and happened after replacement of
the batteries, assuming they are 35/37 AH AGM batteries,
check the batteries for current delivery at the rated current.
It could be just a battery that is not providing the rated current
to the motor after 50 feet.

The problem of your legend XL can view from two different ways and also be view at same time from point.

1). From the wire connections and
2). From the ulterlator (i.e motor battery changer).

What you are to do to fix up this problem is to carefuly trace the wire of the power connector if it providing power on to the battery ,if dose not then it means that there is a power faile from the power which has been the couse of the power faile of the battery.
Then the wireing programm will need to be rerun so a to solve the battery problem.

Thank you and thank for using fixya.

Don about the only thing left to check is the brushes in the motor and the brake. You can remove the brush caps and check to make sure that the brushes are not worn badly. You can also chek the rear of the scooter where the brake and the motor are attached and after a period of driving this area can be warm but not very warm or hot to touch. If it is hot or very warm then the brake is dragging and causing an excessive draw on the batteries. You can have the brake replace or take it off and clean the brake pad. Careful don't pull or break the wires going to the brake. Hope this helps let me know if it did Good Luck

The one thing that wouldn't cause the noise is the batteries.

If it is an electrical noise, it will be the speed controller as they go slower in reverse than in forward.

If it is mechanical, it might be the brake or the motor drive. Take it to your local dealer for correct diagnosis and repair IF needed.

A lot of times when the mobility scooter cuts off, the gauge on the battery drops to zero. ... The most common reason for a fast-depleting battery is age. As batteries age, they store less charge and are less efficient. So not only do they lose their charge faster, they have little of it to begin with.
