Homedics Shiatsu Massager - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Hopefully you've got the right model listed here, as the MCS-360H is a Swedish Massage Cushion.

Did you remove the screw from the back of the unit before plugging it in...? The unit will not work properly until that screw is removed, and could be damaged if it is operated with the screw in place.

Here's the manual -

If removing that screw does not make the unit operate properly, contact Homedics Customer Service at 1-800-466-3342

Radio Shack, you need to know how much amps it needs and might have to bring it in to fit the plug.

Hello,
It's not a battery problem. The LCD panel of the DIGITAL SCALE has been wrong. Reasons: water, vapour, connector oxidation.

Best solution is to replace the cable and possibly the dog. If you insist on repairing the cable I suggest you get a length of fine heat shrink tubing and cut 10 pieces about 1cm long. Then cut each end of the cable to give a clean end. Strip about 2cm of the outer insulation from the two cable ends and then strip about 1cm from each of the 20 inner wires. Then using a soldering iron tin each of the bare ends. Slip a piece of the heat shrink that you earlier cut over each of the wires and then solder the wires together ensuring that you match the colours correctly. Move the heat shrink over the bare solder joints and use the hot soldering iron to shrink the tubing. Finally cover the whole joint with insulating tape.

The cord may have broken wires internally and needs to be replaced. It comes from constant flexing on one point.

Error 1 mean that the machine has not detected a Pulse therefore you have the cuff on incorrectly or your arm is not resting properly or at the right elevation to be by your heart. My book says ensure that cuff is being born correctly and that you have your arm at the heart level.

Electric motors rarely need lubricating and when they do it must be done sparingly and with great care and the correct lubricant used due to the possible safety dangers, including fire..

Often an electric motor is integral with a gearbox which also tends to be prefilled with whatever lubrication it needs for it's lifetime. Sometimes, but rarely, this will need attention and a little further lubrication. Mostly this is the result of a necessary repair or adjustment.

There needs to be a compelling reason to open such a gearbox and again the correct lubricant must be used and then the integrity of the sealing maintained.
